I'm excited about janet focusing on her acting career and hope it lasts for a bit, she's not too young and not too old to do this at this stage in her career. I'm excited for anything she does. | |

^ by Hollywood standards she's too old. Jan was offered many good roles before (Matrix, X-men, Trinity,etc) but turned them down for her music. I wonder what kind of roles she will be offered now. I want her to play a sexy villain. | |

 I think that's the right kind of way to be thinking about this. That was the problem with those two albums (both IMHO not nearly as good as even "Damita Jo"). She needs time....and hopefully she will GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM JD! She needs time. BTW, listen to this. There have been a lot of record labels that have asked me to sit down and talk with them, but I don’t know if I want to do something completely independent, or go with a major. The labels want to stick down and talk because frankly, if they are going to go into Janet album in this market where NOBODY is a sure beat anymore (hell, IMHO, Madonna's last album not even selling a million in the US is pretty bad). In other words, they want to stick down and not just talk money but they probably want a real strategy that is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from the last few albums. They might micromanage or at least want to listen to all the songs before approving anything (not sure if at the point Janet was at before that she had totally carte blanche). If they have a say, I can't fucking imagine that JD would be coming along. No way, no how! That would be crazy! | |

This is true. I am actually surprised at that now in hindsight. She seems to be quite content in her acting these days. | |
