"Nothing" is just for the movie and its being distributed through JD's record label- So So Def because Janet's not under a label now. I hope she goes independent.

Oh btw I saw a clip from the movie last night on the Tyler Perry show. Janet's a really great actress.

No, the Nutty Professor II soundtrack was released through Def Jam recordings and Janet's "Doesn't Really Matter" was released through both Def Jam and Virgin (her label at the time).

One thing I do love about Janet and JD is the fact that even though they're no longer together, they've remained friends. Most people break up and trash talk their ex, but they're really mature about the situation.

This is a smart decision.There's no need to rush out a new album,especially if she's not inspired to do so.On a recent Mariah Carey thread,I suggested that she too should take some time off.If an artist doesn't have anything new to say,artistically,they should take some time off.Travel the world,listen to some different types of music,find some new inspiration outside of the boring US pop music scene,and then start writing songs.
