I agree MICHAEL JACKSON

I thought "Nothing" indicated a new album on the horizon. You have dashed my hopes.
Man, I read that Vanity Fair where Janet said she was recording too

I'm glad she is actually considering going independent. Nothing is worse than those 360 deals that Many otha artists are quick to sign.

Man, I read that Vanity Fair where Janet said she was recording too Maybe it was just new music, not necessarily indicating an album, if it did say album, maybe Janet changed her mind, I mean she DID just get a new film role. Another with Tyler Perry, but another role nonetheless.

I think she needs to rest for some time and focus, he needs some focus to record and release something good ,her latest efforts weren't good and memorable at all. MICHAEL JACKSON

"Nothing" is just for the movie and its being distributed through JD's record label- So So Def because Janet's not under a label now. I hope she goes independent.
Oh btw I saw a clip from the movie last night on the Tyler Perry show. Janet's a really great actress.

Yeah the last two albums she didn't act like she showed much interest, it was label-produced albums. She definitely wasn't into "Discipline" at all since other people wrote for her save for the interludes.

Don't know if it was posted yet but heres footage of Janet and JD on the set of "Nothing"
One thing I do love about Janet and JD is the fact that even though they're no longer together, they've remained friends. Most people break up and trash talk their ex, but they're really mature about the situation. [Edited 3/25/10 23:38pm]

The song is the simplest of simple ballads, so of course she still winds up looking like a tranny from space. This despite the fact that any one of a number of looks from this past week would have been ideal for the video. I just feel that she needs someone to tell her "Gurl, your weaves from this past week is tight. Keep that s**t. Resist the urge to pull that dusty So Excited mop from out the closet." She looked fantastic in Make Me, so is her hair only off when JD is involved? Maybe he is turned on by trannies? Or is the old queeny director responsible for this? Enquiring minds want to know. Perhaps all will be revelealed in the next Behind the Scenes video. Y'all know what this is.

Ew the troll probably influenced the idea for that horrendous yaki. Ugh. She's doing the most with that outfit too. "Nothing" does NOT call for all of that.

I do think the wig is a bit much. She looks better with the naturally curly black hair.

This is a smart decision. There's no need to rush out a new album, especially if she's not inspired to do so.On a recent Mariah Carey thread,I suggested that she too should take some time off.If an artist doesn't have anything new to say, artistically, they should take some time off.Travel the world, listen to some different types of music, find some new inspiration outside of the boring US pop music scene, and then start writing songs.

Same here. Even though I didn't like her last couple of albums, "Make Me" definitely rekindled my interest in her. Oh, well. Taking a break from music to figure out her next direction could be a good thing, as others have said.
