This to me is what separates Chantè for artist like Mariah. Chantè, uses her background vocals like an instrument, and only when she has to; especially when she sings in that higher register. Mariah, used that higher note all the time. To the point where it sounded gimmicky. This is one of the reasons why Mariah's voice is not what it used to be and Chantè can still hit them notes.

Yes chante had long term relationship with Kadeem that resulted in marriage and child. The marriage was kept private I think as his idea that became public when divorce was filed. It appears chante was not happy about the turn of events and wrote several songs about her anger/bitterness about the whole relationship.
