I believe it's an independent label called Peak
distributed through Concord Music.

Thanks for posting. I never heard nor saw this one before. And dang! I forgot just how fwione El was(is?). His hair cut and suit looked so nice. Sometimes he wore his hair a little too long and it gave him a slight feminine look. This was just ... He was fine! In this video. love

It was the second single from El's 'In The Storm' album, released in 1991 wink A very good album, btw.

Definitely. I used to wear the cassette out. My Heart Belongs
to You was probably one of the funkiest tunes El ever did.

She is great. Her first two CD's are beautiful.

I didn't care for the later direction of her music.

She looked so classy in that video. Especially to be so young. I remember eating dinner at the dining room table and Video Soul debuted this joint and I dropped my fork and slowly floated in front of the television just to clearly see how beautiful she was. I think I was eating my mom's spaghetti that night. cool

I've never heard her voice referred to as generic, but I guess to each his own. I love her.

As far as I'm concerned, she's a major 'R&B' star, just didn't crossover for whatever reason...

Not really a Chante cut, but she does feature heavily on it - "YOUR HOME IS IN MY HEART" - from the "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" soundtrack, with BOYZ II MEN and produced by JAM & LEWIS... magic!

One of the most amazing ballads I've ever heard, by anyone, written by Robin Thicke, it's a crime that this was never a single...

Curtains falls down
Lights come on
I'm alone in the dark and I sing the final notes from my heart
Times when I write
Late at night in my room
The candle burned and the paper mirrors my choice of words

Every Time I close my eyes and the world ain't on my side
When I'm sure that I can't change a thing
Then the sweetest man arrives

In my life
I am living out my dreams
'Cause you give me what I need
You're the only air I breathe
You're the only one I can count on
on and on
I can always count on
On and on
In my life

I've learned to disguise with my eyes
But he can see deep inside
And he shares the feelings I've tried to hide

Every time I close my eyes
And the world ain't on my side
And I'm sure that I can't change a thing
Then the sweetest man arrives

In my life
I am living out my dreams
'Cause you give me what I need
You're the only air I breathe
You're the only one can I count on on and on
I can always count on
On and on
In my life

Every time I close my eyes
And the world ain't on my side
And I'm sure that I can't change a thing
Then the sweetest man arrives

In my life
I am living out my dreams
'Cause you give me what I need
You're the only air I breathe
You're the only one I can count on on and on
I can always count on
On and on
In my life

I've never heard anything bad about Chante. I know several people that have worked and interviewed with her and they all compliment her on her sense of humor and how friendly she is. Maybe she had a bad attitude in the beginning? I don't know.

"Classy" is the word that I've always used to describe Chante. She'd be in a music video wearing a long, sexy evening gown.Classy and sophisticated.

I forgot to thank you for posting this joint last week. As I never heard it before. I didn't know they produced more songs for her than Chante's Got A Man. I swear Jam&Lewis give clinics in songwriting with their tunes. They know how to structure a song, tell a story, let it build and their vamps and counter choruses are to die for.Chante is a bad girl (vocally). I wish her even greater success in the future.

Really? Well how about that. You have excellent taste! What makes it worse is that she was only in her early 20's or something like that when she first dropped Love's Taken Over. They definitely gave her a more mature image, probably due to the more contemporary R&B/Jazz sound of the record.

Her 4th cd Exposed was real good. I think most people were
turned off by the Jermaine Dupri track Straight Up since it
was something she normally didn't do. Here are a couple of favorites
from Exposed.

I remember when "Bitter" came out. There was controversy over her use of the word n*@#er. Some radio stations here in NY, refused to play it, even the edited version. It soon died down, though.

I'm about to go pull my CD out now. "Bitter" is my favorite song from her, but "Exposed" is my least favorite CD by her. The Japan version has a couple of nice bonus tracks on it.

Those are the only 2 albums of hers that I have. I lost track after that. I prefer the Love Supreme album (and title track).
