I still play that album. I remember when I first got it, I purchased it without listening to a single track. I got it just for that face on the cover...She is FIONE!!

lol Yeah that was a good cover. smile

Hell, I figured if she could not sing, at least I would have a picture for my wallet.

Another song I dug off of Exposed was Man. It always reminded me of Janet a bit and maybe a tiny taste of what it would be like if Janet ever did that Brazilian album she used to talk about. Anyway, love the breezy tropical feel of the music and breathy vocals.

Thanx for sharing...I see she has aged well. I actually like this song. I like her smooth scat style on this. It's good to hear her staying true to herself too. How was her last solo record? Has anyone in here heard it?

I've only heard snippets but what I heard was okay. I think this was a single:

Wasn't particularly moved by this one. Thanks JackieBlue. Its amazing what a producer with the right tailored sound can do for an artist. I don't want to pre-judge her latest projet but I still believe if she had the right material she could do well in the Adult Contemporary R&B world.

I agree, she needs stronger material. Her latest album was decent, but it's less than brilliant.I'd like for her to find an amazing producer who can take her to new heights.

I don't think Always gonna be Something was ever a single
This was the first single

I also know that the music channel always play Do For You
which may have been the other single. I remember some of us
reviewing the album a couple of years ago and it was kind of
split. To me on a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give the album a 7.
It wasn't quite up to par with earlier albums but not bad either.

Yeah, you're right. I just remember there were two good songs that started with 'A' words. When the album dropped I was thinking of getting it and never did. Now I want it but don't want to pay for it right now. lol I'll get it eventually.

I still think her finest moment was with George Duke nod In fact, I notice that he really showcases the talent of ALL of the female vocalists he worked with.

Not as generic as Beyonce.

Like someone stated earlier, Chante is not a big star because she has never been with a label who wanted to cross her over onto the Pop charts so she is not known outside of the black community. And because her image has always been clean and she looks and acts like a lady, that certainly didn't help matters.

I feel that way about most veteran artists who have released a CD over the past 5 years or so.

U r so right about George. He brings something out in his female singers that very few producers do.

Love Chante Moore. I almost wish she never married Kenny because that's when both of their music slowed but glad they're happy.

I guess her first husband, actor Kadeem Hardison, made her sing from a different place (world), of course, no pun intended.
oops he was an actor on that tv show LOL (A DIFFERENT WORLD)

I like this re-make she made...

I liked her first album but after a while her music just became mostly love ballads. I don't know why she didn't really blow up like she should have.

Chante can really sing but does not get the recognition she should.

Thanks for posting. I never heard nor saw this one before. And dang! I forgot just how fwione El was(is?). His hair cut and suit looked so nice. Sometimes he wore his hair a little too long and it gave him a slight feminine look. This was just ... He was fine! In this video. love

I do know I was kind of surprised when she and Kadeem split

not me. I never could understand what she ever saw in him. By the time they hooked up Different world was cancelled and he did not
have any new projects except that movie the Benjamins. Her albums were charting on not just black contemporary stations but also regular Rb. I had her first 2 cd. I loved them both
when the news of marriage and divorce broke (a la Janet Jackson) I was shocked that she would marry him and keep it secret. For what I recall chante later admitted that keeping the marriage a secret was all Kadeem's idea. She was sort of bitter after her experience with him.
