Chante never broke out big as some of her contemporaries
like Mary J.Blige,Monica,Brandy,or Deborah Cox but she's silky smooth and has put out some good product. My favorite cd by her is her second cd A Love Supreme. That was probably her most complete cd. I know a lot of people really dig her first as well. I've been fortunate to see her live once. Don't laugh at my funk

Was she a "major artist"? No, I don't think so. But her first two albums (especially her first) are excellent, and I loved her rendition of "Inside My Love" from the New York Undercover soundtrack.
But I don't understand what is meant by "major artist". Top-40, platinum, Beyonce-crossover shit, no way. She was well respected in the R&B community in the early and mid-90s, her songs was more Quiet Storm/Midnight Love/Smooth Jazz oriented

By major artist, I mean wide spread acclaim, sold out shows, magazine covers, major hits, mass name recognition "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Chante NEVER had crossover pop mainstream success. R&B Quiet Storm tracks are her sell points.

Scriptgirl,I know you're familiar with this song

I'm a fan of Chante Moore. Her first two albums are EXCELLENT,especially the second album 'A Love Supreme'.For the most part, she does classy, sophisticated Quiet Storm music, which is probably why she never became as 'big' as other R&B divas who make music that appeals to youngsters. Our local quiet storm station plays her music alot, but I never hear her songs on regular R&B stations.
Prince has a thing for Chante, too He mentions her in his song "Ripogodazippa" and she sings backup vocals on his remake of "La La Means I Love You".

Love Chante Moore. I almost wish she never married Kenny because that's when both of their music slowed but glad they're happy. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
