Gino is a bad ass mo fo!, and a long time fan of both. I've never compared the two. Next! He is a bad ass. I just wish his career would've BLOWN UP! I have been a long time fan too, but lately I have been having an obsession. I have a been a long time fan of Prince too. This is something that came up on me just recently about the comparisons. More add ons: The two are very careful about what they say to the press and make sure nobody can say they said this or that. Which is very smart. They work solo, they don't many collaborations. It's only their inner circle.

It appears that there's a certain segment there that would rewrite The Bible to read... In the beginning created the heaven and the earth. ... Thank you to the person that posted Omens of Love. I looked for this song up and down on YouTube and I got was a poor version from some foreign artist I've never artist that wasn't even close the wonderful original. One of Gino's masterpieces. \ In any case, The Gist of the Gemini was one of my favorite Pop albums in the late 70s. ...Love Of My Life ...Omens Of Love ...Fly Into This Night (nice nip of the Bali Hai melody) A bit bombastic with goofy lyrics at times, but everybody needs a bit of that in their diet. Black Cars was the bomb in 1985. Turned me on to Gino Vannelli.
One more similarity: Gino is from canada, Prince wishes he was (or used to at least). Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths...(Jeremiah 6:16) www.ancientfaithradio.com

This goes out to you Gino followers/fans. I have been google, yahooing and going on his website and everything. Answer this question. Is Gino quoted anywhere about what he thinks about today's music and artist. Is he even aware of these artist because I haven't heard any of today's artist say they are influenced by him, if they even heard of them. I'm talking about Beyonce, Rihanna, Maxwell, whoever is out now.
The one person I want to see him perform with is Alicia Keys. Alicia has a new talent for bring artist back on stage. First with the 2007 AMAs when she bought out all the Reggae artist when she performed No, at the 2008 BET awards when she bought SWV, En Vogue, and TLC. And when she had Kathleen Battle on stage with Queen Latifah. Even though Gino was prodigy long before Alicia was even thought of I would've loved to see Gino and Alicia open up at the Grammys instead of the performance she did at the piano with Frank Sinatra on the screen, it was classy and nice and all, but get an Italian that's still in the land of living. I would love it.

There's an interesting audio interview here: http://ginovannelli.tripo...ogino.html You'll need a RealAudio player to hear it. I get the impression that he doesn't really care about what these artists you've named think. He appears to have acquired a very mature attitude toward music at this stage and has progressed beyond what constitutes current Pop music. He just does what he does because he enjoys it. Which imo, is they way it should be. Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

The main thing is enjoys what he does and he is still doing it and doing it well. It could've been worse, he could've ended up like MJ.

I have another request theaudience, if you get this can you post a picture of Gino with his wife Patricia and son Anton. I think I came across a picture, but I'm not sure it was them. The woman was a redhead and the young man had dark hair just like Gino with facial hair
