There's more to her roles than just the "depressed black woman". Esp in "Colored Girls". And "The Josephine Baker Story" was 'something else'.

Anyway, I don't care what she does to be honest, as long as I can watch her get into her act, I'm content nod

I loved Josephine Baker story...however she was also just in Tyler Perry's "Meet The Browns" and wasnt too impressed by that role she played; however I believed that had to do with the bad writing and screenplay.

I am ready to see some new faces in a Tyler Perry film and see how they come about; Im ready to see Mariah in a serious role and Im kind of excited about this. At least she did good in Precious, not the best but a heck of alot better than Glitter or even Wisegirls. Im scared for Macy... should be ok too; I have never seen her serious before

I thought Macy was good in Lackawanna Blues..... Lynn was In Meet The Browns ?
I don't remember her in that movie... I know she was the Mother in Madea's Family Reunion... Angela Bassett was in Meet The Browns

Tyler's got my attention with Ms. Phylicia Rashad. It would be nice if Lynn could make an appearance. And I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Sheryl Lee Ralph either.

Yes I would love to see her act in something different. I think she's about to get type cast as "the always ANGRY female" or something. I know she was in "Daddy's Little Girls" too but that movie was horrendous. sick

BTW: I hope Perry goes to film school before he takes on this film. I could give a squat about Atlanta's economy when he is ruining the black film economy for generations and generations. Precious proved their is money to be earned from quality films. Now Perry needs to up his game or quiet. NOW!

Perry voiced times and time again that he's content with his filmmaking method as long as his fans are shrug lol I agree though, his films' writing and directing are gag worthy.

BTW did ya'll know that Tasha Smith used to teach acting? hmmm If thats true, then she was BADLY directed so far lol I love her though, she reminds me of Khandi Alexander, another actress who was cast as the "angry black female" untill her breakthrough in TV,,,I could see the same thing happening to Tasha. TV has been kind to black actresses.
