Boy George: 'Culture Club May Reform in 2011'

March 22, 2010

Boy George has said that his old group Culture Club may reform next year to play live.

The singer told BBC Radio 5live that the band, who broke up in 1986 but have reunited occassionally since, might get together again to mark the 30th anniversary of them forming.

"I think we could do a one-off gig or maybe a small tour," he said. "It's our 30th anniversary next year so we may do something. It's all about my mood at the time."

The group last played in 2002 at the London Royal Albert Hall to mark the 20th anniversary of their first single.

I feel sorry for the other members of CC subject to George's crazy moods. You notice how he doesn't care about their moods and what they want.
I hope they tell George to shove it.
I don't see the point of them doing just one gig or a short tour. If they reform CC, they should do a new album and really put their hearts into it. If they can't do that, they should just leave us with our memories.
I used to love George and CC, but he has almost destroyed those good memories with all his crimes and bitching. I'd wish he'd go away and let me remember as the beautiful kind person he used to be.

How can it be good now? George's voice is shot to hell now. It was good back in the 90's, not anymore. I doubt a comeback album will happen. Another of George's empty promises. He never said they'd definitely do an album, just they might do a few gigs.
I can't stand to look at his fat bloated face now. It makes me sick what he did to that other guy and he refuses to show any remorse whatsoever. Boy George is a disgusting human being. The other members of CC are better off without him.

Boy George is doing his solo music and tour playing to 400 people or so. The other members of CC want to do it but George is always doing something else. It's very frustrating for them to have to keep waiting for George to get in the mood.

i think he's still on probation after being released from prison. i know a few months ago he begged the judge to let him wave probation rules to let him do "big brother" and they didnt let him.

The only reason he said 2011 was as someone said because of his probation. After this year, he'll be allowed to tour out of the UK.

No, he's allowed to leave the UK in April of this year. George doesn't really want to do anything as CC. I doubt this will ever happen. He's just getting people's hopes up to crush them.

But after April, George still can't enter the US or Canada because they ban people with felony convictions. But he can go to other countries in Europe.

CC in its prime was amazing! But that was 20 years ago. I doubt it would be good now due to George's ruined voice. It's better to leave fans with their good memories and not spoil things.

I hate his attitude.Either do a reunion or don't do it,but it's unfair to keep the other bandmembers and fans waiting.I don't see why he can't just commit to a full-fledged reunion. It's not as if he has some great, big solo career that he needs to focus on right now, lol.

Exactly! My point totally. It's not fair to the other guys. They can't really commit to another band or musical project because they're always in limbo waiting to see what George will do. Part of the reason the other guys have never had success outside of CC is that they couldn't commit 100% to another band or put their heart into it because George was always holding out the possibility of maybe getting CC back together. It's very manipulative and unfair. I'd laugh if George finally agreed to do a reunion but then one of the other guys got hired by some other singer to perform on their tour and told George, no I'm too busy for you!
Boy George always has a bad attitude and behaves in selfish ways like this.

His voice is terrible now.

Just google his performance on Jools Hollands 'Hootenany' on New Years.
