mpls, tron, how yall gon jack ma post? mad

this a tribute to Careless Whisper and the memories conjured up from 84-85 when it was released.

That whole "jitterbug" fluorescent hopping and skippin isht didn't go over well in the hood of "wake me up before you go-go" but "Careless Whisper" took the quiet storm by, well storm. Soulful and poetic, this joint rocked black radio that whole spring/summer of 85.

I wasn't a big fan, especially of that song. Wasn't into ballads at the time. Plus I was too busy checkin Around the World in a Day to be bothering with Wham. But there was this girl I was tryna talk to, who just luuubbbed her some George Michael... so I broke down and bought the single of "Careless Whisper" so I could draw a picture of him that was on the picture disk and give it to her as a gift. The things we do.

Anyway, driving home Sunday night I heard the song again after a long time and I just remembered that incident and paid closer attention to the lyrics... some nice stuff.

Hey NuPS..

This track is the def trax to get a lover!
The song is one of the most sexiest songs ever...once that sax plays...I'm melted wax on the wall!

The song may come off as a cheesy pop song to many...but to me it's so romantic...and to this day...it works everytime!

Thank U George Micheal..!!!
Every minute of last night is on my face today....

"Careless Whisper" is a beautiful song, with a stunning arrangement, soaring vocals by George Michael and GREAT lyrics...

"I feel so unsure,as I take your hand and lead you to the dancefloor..."

"There's no comfort in the truth, pain is all you'll find"

"Tonight the music seems so loud,I wish that we could lose this crowd, maybe it's better this way,we'd hurt each other with the things we wanna say"

"Now that you're gone (now that you're gone)...Now that you're gone, was what I did so wrong,so wrong, that you had to leave me alone?"

I know that some people would dismiss this song as a bubblegum pop ballad, but to me it's a masterpiece.

Masterful 80's song that conveyed to the music world the great songwriter George is. A dramatic progression from Wham's first hit single off of the Make It Big album.

so, what happened next. spill it. did she turn out to be gay too or was it something else? when you start telling a story, you've got to finish it. at least that's what my mama always told me..

lol Okay, here goes:

Since my drawing style was honed by grafitti writing the picture of George Michael looked more like a cartoon. Just whack perspective, poor use of lighting (highlights and shadows), etc.--shit that I hadn't been formally trained on yet. Anyways, the girl liked the effort and we ended up hanging out until the summer ended when she moved away.

I'd see her years later, and she told me she still has that picture. Awww redface
