They both cancel each other out to some extent, but I will give the edge to Madonna on basis of her back catalogue and cultural impact. Plus she took far more calculated risks/gambles with her "art" than Beyonce, who seems to not rock the boat.

Beyonce is already a star, but i think Madonna had way more anthems on her debut album alone than Beyonce has today.

If Rihanna had Beyonce's stage presence, i'd have said maybe her with all the catchy stuff she's been releasing so far. but that said, she is a star too.

I have heard SEVERAL MADONNA SONGS! From 80s til now. And i will say again SHE IS THE MOST OVERRATED POP STAR IN HISTORY, next to Elvis.

Beyonce = B (If I were A Boy and Ave Maria are good showcases of her vocal talent)

Never seen any of Madonna's movies, so I'm not gonna judge. But if she has the same acting skills as Prince, then she has a D-.

Madonna definetly has a more diverse fanbase then Beyonce. Plus she's more worldwide known.

The point of it all is Beyonce is no where near Madge's talent, not to diss her cause I do respect her, but sorry her music just doesn't do it for me.

Madonna has a very good voice, not the greatest but still good. She's an awesome entertainer, she may be a bitch, but who really knows or cares, it's the way her music makes people feel. Beyonce could never do that, not to denounce her talent, it's just her music lacks emotion. If she doesn't feel her own music, who else is?

Does madonna have a level in the first place.

But in terms of prestige, cultural 'relevance,' commercial success, Grammys, etc Beyonce dwarfs all of them in today's climate.

In the long run, though, she is not the icon that MJ or Madonna were/are.

She does not have a strong enough personality and I don't think she packs stadiums on every continent.

Also, save "Irreplaceable," "Single Ladies" & "Crazy in Love," her hits don't pack the staying power punch that will make them Immaculate Collection-ish in 25 years. IMO.

I've ABSOLUTELY LOVED Michael Jackson all of my life, and I think that some of Madonna's performances are even better than his. He usually stuck to the same costumes or themes as in the videos, but she goes in concert and changes everything up. I like that.

I'd never compare Prince with Michael Jackson because to me they're just too different...apples and oranges. However, I digress.

Madonna made Madonna... Musically, Beyonce is just a puppet of totally unimaginative, boring people. Madonna set trends, to this day people wait to see what she will do, say or wear. Beyonce is just more of the same boring ass shit that has made its way onto radio and video. Her music is just bland-more of the same old shit that has taken over the radio and videos... she does nothing of interest (musically), her clothes are ok but weak considering the money she has! Beyonce does seem to be a decent actress, and I wish she would stick to acting because she just seems fake and willing to do whatever told musically. Madonna does what Madonna feels and wants... her personality, tastes and character have been unwavering in music, movies and life; while it is clear, Beyonce does what her management tells her is best for her. Madonna knew and knows what is best for her. Its called brains, chutzpah, and personality, which Beyonce, totally lacks.
