Beyonce Fragrance Hits $3M In Sales

March 18, 2010

Beyonce has had a whiff of the sweet smell of success - $3 million worth of her Beyonce Heat fragrance has been sold since its February launch.

The R&B superstar unveiled plans for her own scent in December and it went on sale at Macy's last month.

Fans clamoured to purchase the fragrance, which features "notes of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach", and it quickly became America's top-selling beauty counter product.

The fragrance's popularity continues to soar -Macy's ceo Terry Lungren has revealed sales have reached a staggering $3 million in its first few weeks of release.

Industry publication Women's Wear Daily reports with 70,000 bottles of Beyonce Heat flew off store shelves on the first day.

Well I guess that's wonderful and all but I smelled it and hated it. I opted for Michael Kors instead. lol

Does Beyonce use it as well? Or is it mainly for the demographic of 14-23 year olds? I don´t mind celebrity fragrances, some of them probably smell delicious, but somehow, for some strange reason, they almost always come across as a bit tacky and not the real deal, and the celebrities who endorse them forget about the product and their "commitment" after a short while.

I can´t take them as seriously as I´d take a fragrance that has stood the test of time without celebrity endorsement. And besides, the more popular those fragrances are, the more common and less individual you smell.
Which is a bit of a paradox when you think about it...one the one hand,a product is a bestseller because people love it, and on the one hand it leads to a lot of people smelling similar and losing their indivuduality, like in the early 90s when Davidoff´s Cool Water was the number one fragrance for men....maybe it still is.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Never smelled it. Pretty bottle at least.

But why is this a vanity fragrance and not a signature fragrance for House of Deréon? confuse

Matthew Knowles is a GENIOUS! He has figured you all out.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

It's physically impossible for my to buy anything from celebrities that I'm not fond of. The thought of my albeit minor, contribution to their bank accounts or fame makes me sick.

Never smelled it though and perhap never will. Although, even if it smelled like roses I still wouldn't buy it.

I smelled it about 2 weeks before it hit the shelves. It smells like peaches and vanilla or something. Really flowery also
