Who here likes Avril Lavigne?

but i don't really care for her music frankly

I like her.
Her first album was catchy-straight-up-pop/rock but that's fine.
No harm in that. I digged most of her second album but not
as much. I think The Matrix REALLY did her a lot of favors,
but at least she can sing and play the part well.

As for her third album, I didn't care for it that much.
It seemed like a step-back, but the kids loved it.
That song "Girlfriend" was a huge hit.

Is her song from the Alice soundtrack doing well
on the charts?

I heard it on Leno and wasn't impressed.

"Complicated" is still a great pop song I feel. I also still like "I'm with you". Never bought any of her music though.

I've liked a few of her later tunes when they've aired those on video channels. They're a bit mawkish, but she's done teeny / young adult powerpop ballads better than most others. She's just, I don't know, more sincere in her insecerity than the rest.
