never been to either personally lol

but Graceland's theme looks like it's based around music. love the gates btw.
and neverland is more of an amusement park. hard to compare. i'd like to go to Graceland for myself, then take the kids and enjoy neverland.

but i'd rather be at Peter Pan's neverland!! he has mermaids. nod

Larry's house makes The Playboy Mansion look like Sesame Street. And I bet the hoes at his parties are too extreme!

Something about Flint makes me think his house smells like bacon, old sex, and cigarettes neutral

I think it's sad that Neverland couldn't become a big tourist attraction like Graceland is.Fans from all over the world would have gladly paid money to tour Neverland.

Speaking of butts...I can see why it's not though. I mean, do you really want to hear, "Let's go see the room where MJ 'allegedly' poked the lil boy in the butt" during your tour? Despite Elvis' eccentricitys, Graceland had nothing on the notoriety that became Neverland.

They're both a bit empty to me. Neverland doesn't exist anymore and Graceland is a creation of the Presley estate. I wonder how much it resembles what it was prior to 1977.

If Neverland wasn't so stupidly expensive to run, it could have become a wonderful tribute to MJ - instead of the idea to charge MJ fans $1000+ to gather round some trench in Gary, Indiana and watch his hanger ons try to carve a career out for themselves, Neverland could have become a nice retreat to remember him and continue as a place for sick/disadvantaged kids to go at the same time.

It was all just the wrong timing, plus we'll never really know how MJ truly felt about the place post-trial. There are too many conflicting reports from his crazy siblings. I don't think anything permanent or successful will ever be done in the realm of a Graceland for MJ fans until his kids are in full control of the estate. The rest of the Jacksons couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

lol You´re right.

I don´t care about Elvis or Graceland. I´d love to go to Neverland when Mike was alive, of course, but if it was open the way Ellie says, I´d like to visit it, too.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

That would have been torture to the neighbors. I've been to Neverland a few times and (I think I've stated it in one of the first MJ posts after his passing) the road you take up there is a SINGLE ROAD. One lane going up and one lane going down. Traffic would be horrible, especially for the people that actually live in the area. With such a small street, there's no way I would want a bunch of tourists blocking my house and lanes for hours a day

Obviously if Neverland would be a true tourist attraction, then the road would be widened and changed to accommodate the traffic. It'd be stupid to not change it.

That's true, especially the snake-oil-salesman known as Jermaine.

I'd go to Neverland, just to play in that bad-ass arcade.

Why do you think that is?

Easy. They all have ulterior, mostly selfish motives and certain people want to take all of the credit.

But shouldn't they be most concerned about wanting to do right by MJ's legacy? I just find myself baffled by the family's money grubbiness and lightweightness.
