One claims she’s the queen of pop, the other the king of bling, but there was room for only one showbiz monarch when Madonna and rap mogul P Diddy battled it out at her Oscars after-party.


The showdown between the two superstars kicked off when Diddy got into a yelling match over who had the biggest music legacy. Ooh, bad move Diddy.
That was enough for party girl Madge to reportedly get into a shouting match at her shindig as she exchanged words with the rapper, whose real name is Sean Combs.
‘Diddy and Madonna were yelling at each other about who has a bigger impact on the music world,’ a guest revealed at the swanky bash, which was co-hosted by Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary.
The rivalry in front of Hollywood’s A-list guests started out ‘in a funny way’ but ended with the pair reportedly yelling at each other. Of course Madge would never go down without a fight.
The material mum, 51, marched over to her waiting dancers to silence her 40-year-old rival’s claim to the music throne.
‘Madonna and her dancers all had a dance-off in the middle of the party!’ one insider claims.
The light-hearted spat will dent Madonna’s latest vocation as a conflict mediator.
The twice divorced singer took centre stage on US TV show, The Marriage Ref, where celebrities try to diffuse rows between squabbling husbands and wives. [

Madonna hosts Oscars after-party

Madonna and Gerard Butler had a dance-off at a post-Oscars party, hosted by the 'Material Girl' singer and Demi Moore.
The 'Material Girl' singer helped host the bash at manager Guy Oseary's Los Angeles home following the prestigious ceremony on Sunday night (07.03.10) and was clearly in a party mood so couldn't resist when the handsome actor challenged her dancing skills.
A source said: 'Madonna and Gerard were grinding on the dance floor before getting into a dance-off. It was hilarious.'
As well as Gerard, Madonna also showcased her dance moves with Gabourey Sidibe, who earlier missed out to Sandra Bullock in the Best Actress category.
A source said: 'Madonna danced non-stop for four hours. She and Gabourey were dancing together at one point. They had a great time. This was the Oscar party to be at this year.'
Demi Moore co-hosted the party with Madonna, which was attended by a host of stars, including Demi's husband Ashton Kutcher, P. Diddy, Renee Zellweger, Bradley Cooper and Taylor Lautner.
As well as some entertaining dance moves, the 300 guests were treated to a late-night Indian takeaway as well as enjoying a cocktail created by Demi and Madonna especially for the party.

'Material Girl' Junior Collection to debut this fall

MG ICON, the newly formed joint venture between Madonna and Iconix Brand Group, Inc., announced its first direct-to-retail license agreement with Macy's, Inc. for the 'Material Girl' collection.
'Material Girl' is a newly created, fast-fashion junior collection that will launch exclusively in approximately 200 Macy's stores and online at www.macys.com in August 2010 for the back-to-school season.
As part of the direct-to-retail agreement, Macy's will have the opportunity to launch additional brands with MG Icon in the future.
The 'Material Girl' collection was inspired and designed in collaboration with Madonna and her daughter Lourdes, along with Iconix Brand Group's in-house fashion department. In addition to the back-to-school apparel collection, 'Material Girl' will also launch in multiple categories including footwear, handbags and jewelry. The collection will retail from $12.00 to $40.00, comparative with pricing strategies at junior specialty stores. The strategy for growth will include additional categories in the lifestyle and beauty sectors, including fragrance, beginning 2011 as well as a rollout into additional Macy's stores.
Neil Cole, CEO and Chairman, Iconix, stated, 'We are excited to announce the first in a series of new brands that will be developed under our partnership with Madonna. 'Material Girl' has a powerful retail partner in Macy's and we look forward to working together to deliver an innovative launch for our consumers.'
