I never watched The Tonight Show on a daily basis, but I've been a fan of Jay's comedy for a long time, and the few jokes I heard him say/do about MJ were not as bad as what is being described here. Maybe I missed the nasty ones Ellie is referring to, but still, he's nothing compared to bitter comedians like Chris Rock and Katt Williams. confused They have totally displayed their disdain and ignorance about MJ in their "jokes," so if Janet ever works with either one of them, that's when I'll get angry. lol Her talking with Jay doesn't bother me. shrug He did a nice segment about Michael during one episode of his previous 9PM/10PM show, so I have a feeling he will be respectful.

I think there's a line and Leno crossed it. When you to go to court to testify for my brother (for the defense might I add but he was vehement that it was reluctant), with information to exonerate him but still protest his guilt even though you have first hand knowledge of proof of his innocence, that line has been fucking crossed. No other comedian did that - it's Leno and Leno alone. If she was going on Letterman no-one would have kicked off in this thread. Rosie O'Donnell, Howard Stern, Dennis Miller etc. all vile pigs of comedians, but Jay Leno is the one and only that properly went out of his way to damage Michael Jackson and his family.

Janet has her own career. She's talented and along with Rebbie and Jackie are the only Jackson siblings with some dignity left. But Jay Leno makes my blood boil and there are about 5 other crappy late night talk show hosts to choose from who are better. Why HIM? She might as well go and do a sit down interview with Martin Bashir too while she's at it. It's the exact same thing.
[Edited 3/13/10 0:30am]

I see what you're saying. IMO, it is sort of a wimpy move to go on his show, just because unlike the other hosts, his hatred for MJ was so personal, but she has to do what she has to do. She's trying to get mainstream back on her side, so her going on there isn't that big of a surprise.

To be honest, Janet doesn't even know how to defend herself, let alone defend MJ. So u ppl r askin for too much, point blank. Janet went through it herself after the superbown incident. If she's not holdin a grudge over the things they said about HER, why do u expect her to hold a grudge over things said about her brother?

Besides- if Janet stopped speaking to everyone who did MJ wrong, the only shows she'd be able to go on is Ellen and Larry King. She may as well just retire, then.

Is she goin on this show alone or with some of the co-stars? If someone else is there, it would be unlikely MJ would even be brought up.

Cool. I guess she'll be there to promote "Why Did I Get Married 2"? I'll be watching.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

Yeah, you're right. Jay teased about that as well, so she apparently does not care about his jokes. She's just trying to promote the new film. Tyler might be there with her anyway. lol

Exactly!

Janet can't even defend herself so her fans do it for her lol We man-handled that creep on that news channel that tried it on Janet's time cool But Janet has defended MJ before when interviewers were getting all smart and saying shit. She would always put them in their place unlike her psychotic siblings that only used him for publicity and money.

Uhhh, preachin to the choir! I LUFF A4U! It was the 1st Janet album I bought. My favorite track:

I love the album sooo much, I get offended when ppl talk bad so much about it. Why- because she's smilin on the cover? Because it didnt sell as much as TVR? So many wasted single material on this album. They could've gone all the way to 6- Turst A Try and Come on Get Up were begging to be singles! But they dropped the project to focus on Glitter! We knopw how that turned out! lol

I'm listenin to the album right now. music

That made me so mad. I wanted Janet to speak up so bad. But she just sat there with a pasted smile on her face- but I'm not gonna get mad at her, because some ppl just arent good at speakin up for themselves. Everyone says "oh, i stand up for myself." But when the going gets rough... its a different story. But to see schoolyard bullying on a news program like that... I thought I was in a 3th grade classroom for a second. Professionalism seems like a thing of the past these days. Ppl tend to foget that even if someone is famous, they're just ppl. The shit was plain mean. sad

Hum it or play it on a piano. It's got about as much melody as a fart. Worst Janet Jackson hit ever.

I just love how some people compare Janet's huge "ordeal" over the Superbowl incident to Michael's last 15 years of his life being labelled as a child molester like it's the same thing. It's honestly as bad as that annoying Crocker guy on YouTube crying over Britney Spears. While the American networks were destroying Janet's career the rest of the world was pointing and laughing at them for taking such shit so seriously.

I blame the record company for handling the Damita Jo project so crappily. It was a bloody good album - all the wrong songs were released, they ignored Europe after the awful Just A Little While flopped, whereas I think if the right song was released she could have actually hit it big as she had so much sympathy here. For the first time since 1993 she was actually known for something other than being MJ's sister and no-one took advantage of it. They just had no balls going about the situation, desperately trying to grovel back to middle America which was never her audience in the first place. Shame the subsequent albums were all steaming turds.

That's what I hate about the way the entertainment industry works now - having to play the game and succumb to mediocrity. No-one truly great will ever come around again that way.

-----

I give up on the MJ/Leno front. You're right, Janet's about as useful as a microphone at a Britney Spears concert in even defending herself, so I can't expect her to ever do or say anything interesting on anyone else's behalf either. She's probably as oblivious to the world as Michael was.
