Timmy84 said: I saw that episode years ago. I didn't even record this one when WGN aired it two or three years ago because it bored me. I don't like too much stuff past 1984 but somebody like Freddie Jackson is the last person I want to see. Andy is a four letter word.

yeah I gotta admit,I'm not excited about the late-80s episodes.I prefer the episodes from the early part of the decade (1980-85).

scriptgirl said: Hey, talk to centric They wouldn't listen to us because apparently we aren't the masses they are hoping to reach with their choice of episodes. You would have loved being at the org a few years ago when WGN was airing the old episodes. TheAudience used to do a "Soul Train" thread each week to discuss the episode and when he wasn't available, I used to fill in for him and Timmy did a few threads too. It almost felt like whoever was picking the episodes was reading our responses on the org. First of all, they aired damn near all the Prince protegee episodes....The Time, Vanity 6, Vanity, Sheila E., and Sheena Easton so they were aware that Prince fans were watching the episodes. When they would air two late 1980s episodes in a row, we would start bitching and they would jump back to either the early 1980s or the 1970s. Some of us kept wanting to see late 1970s episodes during the disco era and all of a sudden, they started airing several of them. It almost felt like they were reading our responses each week. I know you could google "Soul Train" at the time and our threads would come up in the top five results so it could have been possible. They still didn't air no damn Barkays episodes though. . . . [Edited 3/13/10 7:11am] Andy is a four letter word.

My favorite music ends around 1984 but when it comes to "Soul Train", I prefer them around 1982 and earlier because a lot of the dancers started dancing stiff after that. The ladies stopped shaking ass and wanted to come down the line "modeling", the men started doing more acrobatics instead of dancing....(hell, I guess they got more straight men on the show by then because those gay guys earlier used to really turn it out shaking ass and hollerin' and screamin') Andy is a four letter word.

All of a sudden Negroes didn't wanna break a sweat! WFT, I turned the channel, I got up and changed the channel that's how serious I was.

Dancers post-1984 weren't dancing, they were posing.

One of the best 80s episodes is the one that featured Vanity 6 and Carl Carlton.I think it was taped in late 1982.They played some great songs on that episode! "She's Just A Groupie"..."Muscles"...and "Lady Cab Driver" during the line dance segment!!

Centric is rerunning reruns. On Monday the episode with Luther and Cheryl Lynn is coming on again. I've seen that episode about 8 times in the past 6 months, no lie. PRINCE: Always and Forever
MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever ----- Live Your Life How U Wanna Live It
