I disagree. Both Rihanna and Chris are grown ass people that know the difference between what's wrong and what's right. Chris is most likely bipolar and couldn't control his emotions at the time and let it all out on Rihanna. These various men you're referring (I'm assuming) are soul artist. I'm not saying it's right - but the soul artist is known for having a tortured soul and past. Their fanbase don't mind their personal issues. It's usually the fickle pop audience that do.

Well the artists im referring to are various, i mean Kurt Cobain hit Courtney, John Lennon hit his first wife, Vince Neil kicked a woman that was a "groupie" out of bed once, but physically kicked her, and of course Rick James,James Brown and Ike Turner had a history, these artists would be destroyed in todays media, they would be posting on blogs just like chris, crying for forgiveness on tv. I have to disagree that they are grown, they may be in age, but mentality they are far from it, just watch Chris Brown's Hot 97 interview where he laughs about punching Cassie when someone slips up and says it, i mean this is not a mentality of a man, hes an immature boy who needs to be knocked down and then grow up and realize that he is lucky to not be in jail for his felony beating, rather than BITCHING about radio to play his wack ass music

They're rockers. It's all a part of their rocker image. But Rick James, James Brown and Ike Turner's audience isn't one that will dissect their image and stare at them from a microscope. So I disagree that they would be destroyed in this media. Chris was always the kid that had nice pop tunes and that could pop and lock. How's the media before any different from today? Yes, there are more outlets but it was just as destructive in the past. Does Michael Jackson ring a bell? If he was a James Brown - esque artist he wouldn't have dealt with half the shit he did. Instead he went through all that scrutinizing because he was a pop star. Chris is grown. Lol. I don't know why you would think he's a kid just because he acts a fool. He's a bipolar and needs help. Chris was always a shit artist so it doesn't matter whether radio play his shit. They were going to move on to the next whiny voiced, dancing fool either way.

I don't know why, but that line is hilarious! I mean, honestly!

It's pretty sad. If the album doesn't rebound, he will likely be dropped (would it make sense to think that the NEXT album will somehow sell when this one didn't.....all will be forgiven in two years?). But I don't think what is sad is that he will be dropped...it's sad that he is begging! Have some self respect. Is the business dying? I can't say for sure but at this point, the major label ain't what it used to be, so why beg for your professional life and be at their mercy. They're awful and they are a major reason why the business is the shitter! I wish someone would right a full book about what went wrong with the industry! It's almost inevitable, isn't it?

Chris Brown can arguably sing & out dance MJ. He was on the verge of super-stardom

Whoa. confused Out dance and sing MJ!? Come on now. He's just another MJ impersonator. Chris Brown isn't all that talented and he's already replaced by the guy that sings "Down". Lol. R. Kelly didn't have the Bad boy image. He's just that talented to have those that dislike still purchase and listen to his music. Not many can do that. Hell, not even the most acclaimed artists.

Chris Brown has a lot of potential. He's talented and if you start comparing him to many of his sad contemporaries, he's extremely talented. This last album that he did, I wasn't feeling it. It was too autobiographical, What I needed from Chris was some funky music that was going to make me forget about his personal woes. Frankly, I don't give a damn. I think he can comeback. He
just has to work harder and pick up where he left off before his personal life
took over.

From just listening to this, it sounds like this boy is on the verge of suicide or something.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this was leading up to that. But it's laughable when he says "My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else...". How noble of him, lmao! Don't do me any favors Chris, you can sit down and STFU now, lol.

Making an edit here; because I just listened to the actual voice mail. And yeah, he's apparently being hit hard, you can hear it in his voice - he sounds very desperate. He must have been given the clear indication that it's over for him, or he would have never lowered himself to make this kind of recording. Too bad for him. But you know what? He's young, and he's learning a hard lesson. If he's smart, he'll take whatever money he has left and go back to school and get a degree - cause he's gonna need it (...the clock is ticking at 14 minutes and counting...).

His situation reminds me a bit of Milli Vanilli's, but for different reasons. Both artists were allowed a hot-minute of what it was like to be in the glaring hot spotlights of fame, only to have it snatched from under them. After listening to his voice recording, and with the knowledge of what others have done in his same position, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he had suicide on his mind. Because he'll never be the star now that he was on-track to be. And who wouldn't have gotten addicted to all the adoration that I'm sure he was receiving prior to revealing his dark side.

I don't think even his fans (...those he has left) can help him now. If he's not getting airplay, then the record company has already dropped him (NOT) like he's hot, lol.

While I've never been a favorite of Chris' music, I do believe he has some talent....but my gosh, writing a blog begging his fans to support his music is such a cop out to me. Like really, all he has to do is wait a few years and all this mess will blow over. It always does. It's like he's trying to FORCE his way back on top and it ain't going to happen. My best advice to him is to lay low, grow up a little and then try to come back, but don't come back with that bubble gum pop tart music, come back with some REAL music please. Just my two cents.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I haven't been a fan either, but I ALMOST saw him perform live at a club on Sunset Blvd. in L.A. several months before he broke worldwide (...but my flight was canceled and I missed the show). But once he came out, I would have to agree that I thought he actually was very talented (...I mean, I can't jump up in the air and flip upside down - NOT and land on my feet, lol). But even today, I can't humm one song of his, lol. I think he had incredible potential, but I think he's blown it. But who knows, he's young, and life has many twists and turns.

Musicslave

He sounds like someone who's about to get dropped from a label. A friend of mine were talking the other day about "Chris Breezy" he said he should have came out with a public service announcement. I said hell naw, that still wouldn't have helped right now. He needed to go off radar, straight exile for a while, FINISH COUNSELING/REHAB, MANUAL HARD LABOR COMMUNITY SERVICE, ETC. People tend to be a little more forgiving if they feel that there's true remorse, lessons learned, etc. Let time be his friend. True, everyone wouldn't have forgotten the incident but it wouldn't have been so fresh on people's minds. Those responsible parents out there with their little girls were not going to buy a Chris Brown record, much less let them go to his concert. And that's the majority of his buying audience right there. (No preteen + no teenage girls = no Breezy) Hell, there won't be no wind blowing for dude for awhile.

Instead, him and idiotic management decides to release a record around the same time as Rihanna? They both made the mistake of first creating wack music, second they both tried to exploit the story. Only to realize that the sensation/gossip of their story was bigger than their music. Nobody really cared about their new music. But people couldn't wait to see the Rihanna pictures from that night, the police report, tabloids, and interviews about what happend. Bad calculations on both teams if you ask me. They misread the tea leaves.

Houston never said in that video he was raped. I followed his career when he gouged his eye out. His whole family said he has mental issues. U can clearly see in that video that he is not all there. He was telling the truth about how the music industry makes your image into something your not.He is a thug.

But when he gouged his eye out he had a hit single out and was on his way to be successful. He couldn't handle it. He lost it. He sold his soul to be famous. His guilt took over. He was guilty about what he did to get to where he was at.If you notice he never said how his eye got gouged out. Because he did it to himself.

About Chris Brown MJ was a fan of his. U think MJ would be a fan of someone with no talent. MJ called him once and wished him Happy Birthday and gave him advise about the entertainment industry.
