The 'Beypocalypse'! lol I should probably clarify that I mean 'commercial elite' in the humdrum sense of those who've gained a privileged social position, including opportunities to be hosted by and have the ear of the leaders of the day, simply by virtue of their enormous wealth, amassed by pedaling whatever they've been pedaling (be it cans of baked beans or overbearingly-wailed yet vapid assertions of womanly independence) rather than in any more excitingly conspiratorial sense! I'm of the opinion that we don't need conspiracy theories when 'How Things Work' is so depressingly plain to see.

(That said, seeing that unhinged pitbull of a woman, Mother Knowles, sitting 'neath the Presidential Seal is surely a sign that foretells some kind of impending doom!) wink

It's the real deal: Jay-Z and company got an audience with President Obama. The photo was snapped in one of the White House boardrooms on Wednesday as they watied for him. What's wrong with that?

What's wrong with it? Did we ever see pics of Babs rolling around the Lincoln bedroom? Or Fleetwood Mac? Or any of Bush's republican country artist friends? It's just poor form, especially during this hard economic time. It makes the president look elitist and out of touch. Now, what does this do to B'Weave and Jay-Z? Well, it just makes them look tacky as f$ck which is pretty much par for the course.

Actually there have been pictures of other celebrities visiting the White House over the years...It's just that some folks may have a problem with a rapper and an R&B pop singer visiting you know who....

And why is it tacky when black celebrities visit the White House?

Well, he did the Single Ladies hand gesture during the receiving line at the Lincoln Memorial concert, so I think he's fairly familiar with Beyonce. And he's met Jay Z before and did the "dust your shoulder" move at a rally during the primaries (on youtube). I think I remember him saying his body man Reggie Love hips him to the current stuff, and he like some of it, but his fave is old school soul like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder etc.

Everyone knows I cannot stand Beyonce, and I've come to believe Jay Z is way overdue for a humbling season, but I don't think anything unusual about these pics. Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, Brad Pitt, Alicia Keys, Clooney as well as tons of average people in the D.C. area have visited the White House at this point. I've seen plenty pics of celebs touring the WH. The Obamas said they wanted it to feel like the "People's House." I don't see how that should exclude celebrities.

MJ went to the white house to be involved. He donated "Beat It" to a campaign against drunk driving. He was invited by Bush senior for an award. And he was actually in talks with George Bush after 9/11 about doing whatever he could to help out.

As for Jay-Z, and his tacky wife, who knows?
I wish they'd both just go away.

It'd be a miracle if Beyonce managed to not end up in a leotard and crawling around the Oval Office.

Is that comment meant for me, Sos?

What's with the "typing loud and saying nothing" comment?

Actually whether it was meant for me or not, it's sorta condescending and not really necessary. But if it was meant for me, let me say this, friend; while we agree on some points about the visit, there are shades of grey where we disagree, and big whoop. I took the context of your statement to mean that the President was somehow the one who looked elitest for this photo surfacing, and I disagreed with that. I also made (or at least I tried to make) a point that celebrities have been to the White House for visits and photo ops that had nothing to do with cultural events or to receive special honors an distinctions (as you stated in your post).

It's really not that big of a deal to get so touchy over and start attacking people's character...really it isn't coffee

falloff I'm hoping that really wasn't the case. Instead, Michelle could provide marital advice to Tina, since she really needs it. nod Wouldn't hurt for Beyonce to sit in on that conversation too.

History repeats. At the peak of his popularity, Michael Jackson went to the White House. This is from the mjfiles.com website:

"When Michael Visited the White House
In 1984, John Branca, Michael's lawyer, received a call from Transportation Secretary Elizabeth Dole asking if Michael would donate Beat it as background music for an ad on drink-driving. Michael's initial reaction to this request was to refuse, saying he thought the idea was tacky.

Then, thinking it over, he came up with an idea. Ever the clever businessman, Michael told John that if he could get some kind of award from the White House, then he would give them the song. According to biographer J Randy Taraborrelli, Michael asked John to negotiate something, saying, "i want to go to the White House. I want to be on stage with the President [Ronald Reagan], and get an award from him. And sure i want to meet Nancy [First Lady, Nancy Reagan]. The whole works. Why not? You think you can do that, Branca. Can you get me an award form the President?"

And so on 14 May 1984, Michael arrived at the White House to receive an award from the President. His arrival caused a sensation. Once at the podium, the President said that Michael was "proof of what a person can accomplish through a lifestyle free of alcohol and drug abuse...And if Americans follow his example, then we can face up to the problem of drinking and driving, and we can, in Michael's words, beat it."

That day, Michael was treated like an American hero. He was flush with the success of Thriller and the world was his."

Jay-Z is very much involved in the NWO plans. And so is Beyonce. Both are willing slaves in the music industry. If you don't follow the orders from above, you will get into trouble. As we can see with what happened to MJ, John Lennon and others. Prince was luckier - he stopped before it got too dangerous for him.

And the president is on the same payroll as Jay-Z.
