As far as the SNF soundtrack goes, well there's a reason it's the biggest (or at least one of the biggest, I think "The Bodyguard" may have sold more) selling soundtrack ever.

My absolute favorite song on the soundtrack is "How Deep Is Your Love" .

I also like "More Than A Woman" (Both versions), "Night Fever", "If I Can't Have You", "Stayin Alive", "Manhattan Skyline", "Salsation", "You Should Be Dancin" and "Disco Inferno". Basically I pretty much love the whole soundtrack lol.

One of the greatest movie soundtracks ever This wasn't just the soundtrack to a motion picture,it was the soundtrack to an entire era.

You will never again get things like this, soundtracks that fit the time, the movie etc...all soundtracks now suck, plain and simple, just a reason to toss shit onto a movie. The last really decent soundtrack was Tom Petty's "Shes the one" mainly because he composed the soundtrack as he watched the movie. But today soundtracks are nothing more than the NOW compilations.

Classic soundtrack. And very diverse. It's funny because a lot of the songs on that soundtrack really don't sound like "disco" (compared to the other disco tunes of that time).


Travolta was smart. He had a clause in his contract that he had to be paid royalties for every "Fever" LP that was sold.

Very good point.There are alot of different sounds on this album.Songs like "Calypso Breakdown" and "Salsation" are definitely not disco.....Kool and The Gang's funk masterpiece "Open Sesame"....some Philly soul ("K-Jee" by MFSB)....a very diverse soundtrack that covers alot of ground.

From what I know, he didn't contribute ANY of those things in that soundtrack. But if you said was true, then it goes to show you how DEEP the trickery of this business.

I absolutely loved the BeeGees music. Especially all the tracks during "Saturday Night Fever."

People forget that SNF was not a big budget film, they all thought they were doing some kind of indie flick art film that no one would care about, as John said when we started doing it, Disco was already a dieing trend, the clothes he bought they didnt even make anymore he had to go to thrift shops in the village to get them and they were buried in boxes marked "do not display" thats how OUT it was. But when this came togehter John got in on the ground floor and basically did what alot of artists/actors wish they would do, give a little and get points on the film and its future. Now im sure John didnt think it would be MEGA but he did this with Grease too, hes just someone that knows you gotta look to the future because the "phone" might not ring again for you. Bruce Willis did the same thing, he took almost no pay for Sixth Sense, basically scale, which at the time was $125 a day for union worker on a film. But he gpt points/% on its distribution/dvd sales/merchandising etc.....

Only the first 2 seasons of Welcome Back Kotter is worth watching if it ever available on DVD. The series went down hill after John left to go Hollywood full-time (although he did go back as a "special guest star" for a few episodes).
