What's the deal with Teddy Riley?

He has been having difficulty finding a place for his keyboard skills on productions in the last decade. Did anyone else notice that? It's kinda sad that a musician of his caliber isnt able to go in depth. Production has become so minimal with keyboard lines (If you can call them lines) that I imagine alot of musicians are probably like neutral "How the frack I express myself wit this? "

Am I alone on this? The work that he did for Lady Gaga, I had to look and say to myself "Why is this even labeled a Teddy Riley track?" You hire him to give you something and did a A&R come in and instruct him "Now Teddy, we want something with a dancey beat. We don't want any of this New jazz swing, or whatever it's called. The Kids want something UP (Raises his hand up above his head) tempo. So give us that and combine it with No Diggity. Do you think you can do that, Teddy?"

Maybe Teddy will get inspiration being with DJ Quik. But even the work he did on Ego Trippin for the most part must have been not challenging. Maybe Teddy needs to have a summit meet with Kenny Dope,Dj Khalil,Sa-Ra & so forth.

Productions have become insanely boring with musicians in hip hop and R&B. Musicians must talk about how bored they are in the studio because of these 2 bar (or is it 1 bar now?) loops. I bet you they long for the days of that 4 bar loop of expression. Which is hysterical if you think about that premise. ( You know I'm right ) This industry is becoming a compressed sonic diluted prison day after day. And the session musicians/artists are the inmates.

rant over)

cool
