It's a shame that they're ignored in the States.Their songs should be all over R&B radio stations.

Yes, they should've. Discrimination? I think so. neutral

You are totally right. But they are played sometimes.

Orger TD3 Back then and now the artist used internet and cable stations for marketing themselves so radio is not the only Ave. smile Thank you for posting.

What are you talking about? I simply stated that group music should have been played on R&B radio, it wasn't. I believe there was a perception these gent's didn't fit the image of a R&B/Soul group in the United States of America. wink

But you are welcome all the same. smile

There is a radio station in Chicago named 107.5 WGCI. They occasionaly play their music. They play them in remixes because Jamiroquai is in the dance genre (Disco). One of the orgers said that she didn't hear Jamiroquai in Chicago's radio stations, so they do play Jamiroquai in Urban stations but most of the time they are in remixes. Thank You!!!!

Trevor Nelson used to play a wicked spacey demo of When you Gonna Learn back in the 90s, got it on tape somewhere, get the feeling this isn't the same version but still grooves over the original imo.

The first 3 albums are magic to me. Synchronized was a bit patchy, but not too bad. Funk Odyssey and Dynamite were dissapointing. I think it's no coincidence that as the original members slowly left, it became more and more Jay Kay the 'pop' star. But the new band still kicks ass live. Check out the Montreux DVD or even the youtube clip on their homepage...

When You Gonna Learn, this is the 1st song I heard from them. I liked it a lot then and still like it.

Jay Kay is such a huge of Stevie Wonder and his vocal style tell you so.

I went to see the James Taylor Quartet a few years ago. They were very much the same (jazz-funk). Saw them at the Shepherds Bush Empire.

As I've said on every other Jamiroquai thread, I love them.

I don't think I've seen a live version of "Just Another Story" that I like. They usually take out the intro which amazing to me. Helps with the build up of the song.

I agree somewhat. The album starts off really good, with three great songs in a row."Seven Days In Sunny June" is one of their BEST songs. But things fall apart mid-way through the album."Love Blind" has potential, but the lyrics are so wacky,it's hard to take it seriously."World That He Wants" has a strong message, but it's a tedious song. This album lacks the focus and cohesiveness that we heard on 'A Funk Odyssey'.

I hear some similarities but to me they really use differnt sounds and textures. With James Taylor Quartet I hear a organ for Jamiroquai I hear heavy synthsizers in Jamiroquai's music. James Taylor Quartet has more of a jazzy feel to his music, where as Jamiroquai has a jazz and disco feel to them. That's just my opinion. iloveannie Thanks for posting..

This is my favorite song. "Virtual Insanity" can be found on their 1996 album "Traveling Without Moving". Thank You all for posting. This group is amazing despite the many lineup changes with Jamiroquai.

Jamiroquai at Neapolis Festival?

Although no announcement has been made, the website of the Neapolis Festival 2010 is showing a large 'buffalo man' as the background image.

This looks very promising for an appearance by the band at this festival in Naples, Italy in mid-July.

'Synchronized' is the album that turned me into a Jamiroquai fan lol It was June 1999,I was in a record store when I heard this amazing music being played over the speakers.I assumed it was a rare 70s disco song that I had never heard before, and I was curious about it.I asked the clerk what it was,she said it's the new Jamiroquai CD.The song was "Canned Heat"!! I went crazy lol I couldn't believe that a modern-day band was making music like this.Needless to say,I bought the CD.It was pretty much my personal soundtrack for the rest of that year.

It's a strong album."Canned Heat","Planet Home" (which should have been a single),"Supersonic" and "Where Do We Go From Here" are excellent uptempo jams that feature the best elements of late-70s disco and funk."Falling" is a wonderful slow jam.
