Warning: Virus using Myspace music

When I go 2 myspace music and try 2 listen 2 new cd's about 50% of the time a popup says, "Scan for a virus". What ever u do, do click anything on that popup. I'm saying away from myspace, don't need the drama.

You may need to use Malware bytes if you don't already have it.

It's probably an ad trying to do something. You said it was a popup, not your virus software. I use AdBlock in Firefox, and it blocks about 99% of ads on a site, including those that LOOK like they're some "warning" about a virus. This scam has been around for ages. Unless YOUR virus software is popping up, don't sweat it, and don't click anything. A site doesn't have a virus, but some ads might try trick you into installing something.

I still never get WHY ads want to install things on your computer. What do they hope to accomplish> Never made sense.

I use Malwarebytes, and I can't even visit a Myspace page without it being triggered. There are times, if some post something here on the Org, MB goes nuts.

They sure the hell did. I don't know why people still have pages on it. It's real hard to navigate too.

do you have microsoft? (the popup IS the virus.)

if so, then what you described is probably the conflicker worm.there was a news article on this as 3 people were caught in a cyber crime ring.microsoft must have had a security breach as the conflicker worm was mentioned in the last part of the article. this was day before yesterday.

call microsoft up and tell them what's going on. they'll know exactly what to do.they got rid of it for me and i didn't have to pay a dime.
