Looking for song/video (90s female R&B...Motownish).

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this one. I don't have a lot of info and only have a very basic description but here it is.

I remember this video possibly being aired during that first hour of MTV2 (which aired on MTV). If not, it was certiantly around that time (the mid nineties, 1996 or around there). The music video featured a female R&B group that had a video and a sound just like old Motown. Not quite a Sumpremes or Marvelettes or anything but heavily mimicing that era. And that's it. I'll say this. It isn't a well known or even kind of well known group (at least I don't think so). Certainly not an SWV, Jade, Total, Brownstone. This might have been their only video. I think the performance was black and white and appeared on a TV (I think a guy might have been watching it while he was moping around an apartment). Thanks in advance. I know someone must know what I'm talking about.

Could it be a group called, "Blackgirl"? They had a few songs in the 90's one of them was called, "Where did we go wrong" and another called, "90's girl"?

The Good Girls did 'Love Is Like An Itchin' In My Heart'
a hip-hop remake of The Supremes classic.

Looked both up. It wasn't either one and it didn't really sound like either one. My memory of the song is that if it did sound like any Motown girl group song, it was more like "My World Is Empty Without You", but a bit more upbeat....i could be way off. Thanks for the suggestions.

I used to listen to the mix by Dallas Austin a lot. Used a good SOS Band sample.

I'm kidding! Yep. Pretty much how I remembered the video and song! Thank you. thank you, thank you. Really good song! I doubt it will be on Itunes but I'll look it up. I like how the verses and bridge are a bit haunting (although it's kind of odd how the chorus is a bit peppy...).

Oh I see you've already got it. I was thinking "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" by En Vogue, that was a similar sound and video concept as I recall.
Just somewhere in the middle,

I thought it debuted during the first hour of MTV2. They might have even talked it up and thought it was going to be a hit. Apparently didn't happen. I looked it up and the albums are out of print but the second (the one with this song) is online. Apparently their claim to fame is appearing on the "Waiting To Exhale" soundtrack, which is pretty big.
