i always thought that album got a bad rap nod. it wasn't half-bad lol. it was just "different" cool and badu was up there alot too(and prolly masterminded the whole project lurking lol) and i love her too thumbs up!. com was my shit when this came out (that whole circle of artists, really). after be (which is pretty decent too and with alot of kanye cool), his star rose, doing movies and shit and his music hasn't appealed to me at all confused. couldn't get through either of his last 2 albums once sad. like water for chocolate and resurrection are still my favorites by him, although i haven't listened to either in ages sigh
For all time I am with you, you are with me.

I wouldn't go as far as to say this was a great song
but i would say Electric Circus was a great album that
the typical rap audience just didn't get. I like this
album better than Be and Finding Forever which were good
in their own right but EC was a pure Common album without
the Kanye influence. Soul Power and Between,Me,You and
Liberation were among my favorites on EC.

I think people had a hard time understanding Electric Circus. It's not typical; it's very experimental and eclectic but still really good. There are so many dope artists on the album too. nod

I like this one featuring Bilal & Prince

How can I stand 2 stay where I am? / Poor butterfly who don't understand.

Electric Circus was a great CD. It's a shame that other rap artists gave Common such crap over his image during that time. He worked with very innovative artists on this one and it meshed very well. Jimi Was A Rock Star was a good track and I do miss the influence Badu had on his sounds. The Kanye influence is getting staler by the minute.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I dug this track too. The track ended with Prince
playing drums on it.
