Common (ft. Erykah Badu) - Jimi Was A Rock Star This joint just came up on my iPod while on shuffle and I can't believe I forgot how f**kin' amazing it was. Electric Circus is one of the most freaky yet cool albums I ever heard. Produced by ?uestlove, James Poyser, Jeff Lee Johnson and Pino Palladino Keyboards by James Poyser Drums by ?uestlove Guitar by Jeff Lee Johnson Moog by J Dilla Bass by Pino Palladino [Edited 2/26/10 23:17pm] Check me out and add me on:

I wouldn't go as far as to say this was a great song
but i would say Electric Circus was a great album that the typical rap audience just didn't get. I like this album better than Be and Finding Forever which were good in their own right but EC was a pure Common album without the Kanye influence. Soul Power and Between,Me,You and Liberation were among my favorites on EC. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I think people had a hard time understanding Electric Circus. It's not typical; it's very experimental and eclectic but still really good. There are so many dope artists on the album too. I like this one featuring Bilal & Prince How can I stand 2 stay where I am? / Poor butterfly who don't understand.

Electric Circus was a great CD. It's a shame that other rap artists gave Common such crap over his image during that time. He worked with very innovative artists on this one and it meshed very well. Jimi Was A Rock Star was a good track and I do miss the influence Badu had on his sounds. The Kanye influence is getting staler by the minute. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!
