mozfonky said: dag said: Me too. I am extremely shy about this as well, but that doesn´t mean that you´ve never had sex. Oh sure, I know he had sex, that's not the point, just saying it was very low key to go along with his persona. I also think that, unfortunately, in the eighties, a hyper-masculine black artist would never have been let through, just the way it was. Whether Mike was conscious of that or not I don't know. My point is, when you have sort of that feminine aura, no one knows how to accurately read it, as I was saying, it's just not those rigid roles we're stuck with. In the old days, a man my age would almost surely be thought of as gay if he weren't married at my age, and when people find out my biggest and only true vice is women they are always shocked. I'm a freak, I love being a freak, I love women and life's too short not to have fun. I'm sure Mike had his too. Sad thing also is that it is almost unthinkable to say in the public that you find him sexy. You should be liking Brad Pitts, George Cloonies and other boring, allegedly handsome men. You´re very weird if you say they do nothing for you. And it´s sad that you are thought of as being weird if you do not flash around your sexuality the way it is fashionable nowadays (just look at all the videos) and as being probably asexual or you are believed to be hiding some shameful sexual orientation of yours like with Mike when people loved to believe he must have been a paedophile just because he obviously was not acting "normal" or not showing off publicly his interest in women. [Edited 3/9/10 12:23pm] "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. If it's true, I'm glad he got his groove on in the last few years and they weren't as lonely as I expected.
I hope those chicks write a book or something and go into great DETAIL about it all And when I say detail, I mean detail like my girls and I get into.. .how long, how thick, rhythm, sounds ,smells, can he make you squirt? What can I say? I'm very curious.

To be honest I'm still kinda baffled that they would wanna do this, I don't know, maybe they're only doing it because MJ probably told them not to until he died but who knows?

Well, maybe they truly liked him and of course money talks. Every one who had more than a passing relationship with Elvis came out with a book. Some were good people others were crooks, but eventually they all made a buck off their "friendship".

dag said: Vanilli said: dag, I guess I see what you are saying. It is still weird for me to think of MJ like that. I guess for me, so much of MJ is tied into him being my childhood hero, ala Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, people like that. I drew pictures of the cover of Dangerous as a kid, and even made it into a person "Dangerous-Man" whose real identity was MJ. Then when I saw Moonwalker, it was like, "Okay this guy REALLY is a hero! He can turn into a robot! A car! This is it!" I loved his music, but he also had that coolness factor that like Batman and Spider-Man had. Here was my blog about his death from back in early October. I didn't want to write about MJ sooner then that or it would have turned into just utter sadness. By October (before "This Is It" came out, thank G-D, I was able to process the loss a bit.) It kinda relates to this topic, and it relates to MJ in general. I'd love thoughts. The Deaths of Spider-Man and Michael Jackson "The Death of Spider-Man" was filmed on May 23rd, 2009. It was a video shoot like the other Influence Films video shoots of the past. It was a fun experience with friends and captivating to watch one of my favorite childhood heroes come to life: Spider-Man. Once "The Death of Spider-Man" was filmed, I put the footage away and planned to edit it in the middle of June and have it released by August. Before June 25, 2009, besides my pet fish and a few distant relatives, I didn't have that much experience with death. Then on June 25, 2009, one of my favorite childhood heroes died: Michael Jackson. I will never forget where I was when I heard the news. I was watching TV, surfing the Internet and preparing to leave my home. Then I heard that Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital. From that point until I heard the King of Pop had passed away, I was glued to the TV and Internet. My plans of leaving for the day were suddenly changed. I wanted to cry when I first saw on the TV that he had died, but I couldn't. I was just frozen. In the next few days and weeks, I remained the same way. I couldn't believe it. When I was a kid, I had posters of four people on my walls: Batman, the Flash, Spider-Man and Michael Jackson. To say Michael Jackson was important in my world, then and now, would be an understatement. In August, I finally began editing the footage from, "The Death of Spider-Man." At first it was literally hard to watch. I couldn't take my mind off Michael Jackson's death. The footage of Spider-Man falling to the ground was the most difficult part to watch and edit. Around that same time, I was reading the re-released edition of J. Randy Taraborrelli's Michael Jackson biography: "Michael Jackson: The Magic, The Madness, The Whole Story." J. Randy Taraborrelli is my favorite author and his new edition of the book was a beautiful tribute to the complex life Michael Jackson lived. Reading Taraborrelli's words and editing "The Death of Spider-Man" are all I can remember doing in August and September. As I write this blog tonight, those two things along with talking to some friends, helped me take my mind off the huge loss I was feeling. I suppose one of the things that made the loss so tough was that childhood heroes aren't supposed to die. Michael Jackson wasn't supposed to die. Except Michael Jackson did die. Unlike Batman, the Flash, and Spider-Man, Michael Jackson was both my childhood hero and a REAL human being. I suppose somewhere along the way that fact got lost on me. I dedicated the finished project to Michael Jackson's memory, and while I'm sure his legacy will live on, it will never be quite the same as knowing he is alive. Childhood heroes aren't supposed die. Hence why in "The Death of Spider-Man," Spider-Man didn't REALLY die. By the time I finished editing, "The Death of Spider-Man," complete with Mike Vaughn's amazing voice cameo, I had also finished re-reading, "Michael Jackson: The Magic, The Madness, The Whole Story." After doing both of those things, it felt like I had somehow (without realizing it) grieved the loss of one of my childhood heroes. Maybe it was knowing that in, "The Death of Spider-Man," Spider-Man lived. Maybe it was feeling like re-reading Taraborrelli's biography made Michael Jackson live on. However, the pain wasn't as present as it was a few months ago. While I don't think any of Michael Jackson's biggest fans will ever "get over" his loss, I think certain things will make it easier to cope. For me, those things made it easier. While according to some reports Michael Jackson's record sales after his death broke several records, there is only one record (for me) that stands out, that his death broke. He was the first and only one of my childhood heroes to die. However, the same way throughout the world Batman, the Flash and Spider-Man live forever inside comic books and films, Michael Jackson will live forever all over the world inside his music and short-films. With that being said, the same way, the last shot of "The Death of Spider-Man" shows Spider-Man stepping into the shot and emerging to be alive and well, I keep wishing Michael Jackson with his black loafer shoes and rhinestone covered socks would emerge once again to somehow still be alive and well. For months now, I kept waiting for the day to come when I would "get over" Michael Jackson's death. I'm starting to realize now that will probably never fully happen. I don't believe the death of a childhood hero, or the death of anyone important to a person, should be something that is "gotten over." Instead, the loss should be something that impacts you, changes you, and adds awareness and appreciation for what that person meant to you. The bottom line is I will never "get over" Michael Jackson's death, in the same way I would never get over the death of anyone else important to me. And that is okay. R.I.P. Michael Joseph Jackson August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009 My Hero. Forever. Nice essay, Vanilli. I guess, for us girls, it´s different. I am not sure if any girl ever dreamt of Superman, Spiderman and others cause I didn´t. None of those herous also had nothing to do with sex, I guess. And if you viewed him this way, then probably that sexual element was missing for Mike as well and especially if you´re a straight man, you won´t be even looking for it. But as a woman/girl who finds Michael handsome and sexy (and believe we do) watching him move the way he does, that sexual element will be included in your image of MIchael Jackson. You see him being shy in the interviews, but you also see him doing this. And which one of these images do you think we have seen more frequently. The shy MJ during interviews, or the wild guy onstage? Anyways, does anyone know where this is from? [Edited 3/9/10 11:56am] haha, I love that part of This is it! Then I heard and read that she was forced to say they've never had a relationship which I did find strange to me.

mozfonky said: That was a great interview with the guards, consistent with alot of other peoples observations. Don't know about Mike's heterosexual activity, he still seemed embarrassed about sex even in "This Is It", not in a bad way, just in a shy feminine way. I've said it before and I'll say it again, why do people have to force us into these rigid boxes, not all of us fit in them. I've freaked girls out with my shyness in my younger days, they were convinced I was mentally ill, gay or something else. We're not all suppossed to be the same. It's what I tell people when they say "oh I thought about you when I heard Michael died" one woman said, "I know you identify with him" I said "yeah, he was a freak just like me". I love my freakishness, I wish the world would have let mike do the same without cooking up all this mess.
Plus remember, the androgynist look was popular in the eightes, and white singers got away with it. When MJ or Prince sported that look, they were called out. So yes, I can see how people can be forced into a particular box in the name of assumption.

It's funny, people probably expected when MJ passed away, there would be CRAZY rumors about his private life. Instead, none of that has happened, and it has been almost been one year, and in place of that, Michael seems more normal than anyone ever wanted to give him credit for.

I agree. I've seen some MJ fans freaking out over the revelations of him supposedly having girlfriends at other boards and I don't get it. I really don't. He was a regular guy in a lot of ways. I do believe MJ was shy esp. when he was younger, but the older he got, the more confident he became. I think for the most part, the asexual peter pan thing was really just an image. I think that peterpan thing and his childlikeness was not an image. It was real, but that was something he was not shy to show to the public. But it´s not like everything in his career was sex-free. Just listen to some of his songs. He was just embarrased about it to talk about it in the public, but when you get to see the not so public stuff, footage (the Glenda tapes etc.), he´s relaxed.
