Now if Freddie Jackson, Regina Belle, and Mikki Howard can get themselves in some kind of a mess, it'll really be fun. evillol

Mikki Howard doesn't count anymore. Her career is O V A!

I guess the advice that Anita gave her after winning her Soul Train award is true.

Go to about the 5:50 mark.

Did you see Mikki Howard perform her song Beer For Breakfast on
Monique a few weeks ago?

Oooh I was so mad I caught that episode the night it aired. She really had me wanting to see her perform and it looked like she had a couple of beers before that performance.

I'd just be happy to see her make a current album and watch it flop in the charts. lol

I'm never happy to see anyone losing all their belongings (unless they are a personal enemy of mine lol ). That must have been horrible.

The current album that flopped was called "Femme Fatale" Half of it was a nice attempt at New Jack Swing even if it was about 4 years too late while the other half was jazz standards. Unfortunatley by 92'-93' like most of her contemporaries she shared label and tour time with tryin 2 be "hip", the kids was like "Mikki Who ?" so she started acting and got a role in Poetic Justice a year later

She needs to OJ her ex-husband.

Even though Anita as a person has her ways I don't believe in spouses getting publishing.

Berry Gordy has been married 119 times and none of them hoes are getting a Jobete check. (Uh, let me clean that up.) I mean, I don't believe I've read of any settlement between Mr. Gordy and his wives involving income from the Jobete Catalog.

Can't they make a Lionel Richie "Pay You Pay Me" clause?

That's the good thing about Prince, he'll buy them a house and send them on their way (Or whatever happens) but they won't get any Controversy Music Checks for alimony.

Maybe Anita can call Miki and ask for that Soul Train Award so she can pawn it.

Seriously though, Anita already lost her publishing on "The Songstress" (Ironically to a Gordy Chick.) so this has got to hurt.

I just dont understand how someone should be entitled, like that is the only option.

How about she continues to earn money she deserves, and pays alimony?

In this case the divorce really has been finalized. Ms. Bakers ex has taken her back to court because he thinks he's not receiving his fair-share of the royalties from those two albums. Yes, he is entitled to a percentage of the assets acquired/made during the marriage. The only way it can be proven Mr. Bridgforth is getting his percentage of royalties is for Ms. Baker to open up her books. Alimony and dividing martial assets aren't one in the same. In fact, alimony, is irrelevant to this case.

You are 100% right. She should be relaxin.' I hope she has that opportunity soon. She's done her work. God bless her at this sad time in her life and I pray it turns around in her favor. Peace.

Yes she should be relaxing and focusing on raising her sons.
I'm in the mood for love...simply because your near me.
