Did Prince rip off Gary Numan?

If you listen to Gary Numan's early 80's albums you will notice how his synth sound is quite like Prince; Listen to, a lot of 1999 and especially the Beautiful Ones--That eerie synth near the end. Prince did borrow a lot from Numan's creepy sounds, and didn't ever give him much credit. Prince obviously made it more funky and less robotic, but he should give credit where credit is due. Then there is the story about Prince loving the song, Cars. HMMM, me smells a purple rat.

no no no! Prince; give Gary his money...lol
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

TRON

And then there is Numan who took large portions of what Bowie and Kraftwerk were doing and adopted them as his own. Prince doesn't acknowledge Bowie nearly enough.

I once read somewhere that Prince really loved Gary's 1980 song "Cars".

I'd like to think that George Clinton and the keyboard companies have a larger claim..

Junie Morrison&Bernie Worrell could make a Strong Argument as could Herbie Hancock.

Listen,I don't hear any Rip-Off. You mean Inspiration? Well maybe if he was a fan. Gary Numan and Kraftwerk and how about that group MI-Sex with Computer Games? I love all that music and was able to see all of them in concert. They were really Cool.
