System of a Down - what do u guys think of them? I've only ever been marginally aware of their music (yep, under a rock for a decade or two), but I teach at a school where all the kids (well, the boys at least) are big fans.
Been checking them out on Utube but haven't formed a final opinion yet - they feel a bit like a watered down Rage Against the Machine. Not as formulaic and pop-crap as all that Nu-Metal buulshit, but not really pushing the envelope and seeming to mainly be playing to the crowd. Any takers? Seen them live and they rocked.
Love the Toxicity album (especially 'Aerials' and 'Chop Suey!'), love the Mezmerize album (particularly 'BYOB' and 'Cigaro').....wasn't keen on the Hypnotize album. |

"All System Are Down"(SOAD) for short they do talk about the goverment alot so thats 1 of the upside, of the group. 2 they have amazing guitar I love "Chop Suey" of the Toxicity album the best.
