Well they made good job distracting us. I'll be sure to think of it as only "distraction" whenever I'm back in NYC and both of my daughter & me get profiled daily along with the rest of "usual suspects" for safety purposes thumbs up!

yes they were very good at it. the people in power created racism in order to prevent the poor white people form joining with the slaves in order to overthrow them from power.

it takes time for things to change, it was all put in our legal system for some 400 years do you really think it would change after only 40 years?

do i discount your experince of course not, but will be lucky to see the difference in our great grand childrens lifes... hope and faith things are getting better whether you see it or not.

well i guess there is some truth in that since 'white' people only make
up like, what 10% of the entire global population?

it's like bullies in school who'll kick the shit out of you before you
have time to realise that you're the stronger of the two.

but we know better now and we've evolved so much since those days but
still the problem remains as large as ever, which is baffling, at least
to me.

a clear example is people in authority, like cops, who seem to chose
their job (inspite of what they say to the contrary) more on basis of
distilling fear in people and having a position of power than they do
simply to "serve and protect"

if you watch programms about american police officers or the stuff that
goes on in american jails it becomes aparant that 90% of those people
are on a power trip and enjoy intimidating and bemeaning people, and in
particular people of color. you can see it in their eyes when they talk
or when they're filmed next to a dark skinned man/woman. they actually
seem to think they're a more advanced human species and that all black
or hispanic people are stupid, violent and lesser human beings.

compared to sick, twisted shit like that going on every single day and
which seems not likely to stop anytime soon, i think people like jay-z
are the least of the problem.

tabloids should focus on the real issues, like the number of black and
hispanic people in jail or on death row and the whooping percentage of
that number who are in there unjustly and who are being put to death
unjustly. why does one man get the chair after he's assaulted six or
seven girls and killed them and yet the other man is sentenced to death
for robbing a liquor store?

aaaaanywho. i'm rambling, as always. but newspaper fodder like this is
just propaganda. it's diverting attention, as you said, from the actual
matters that they should be reporting on, but don't.

discrimination is discrimination

Actually, no - no it does not always mean the same as applied to different people/places/things/death penalty situations/ and so forth.

People who are discriminated against based on color race gender sexual orientation etc. are on the receiving end of things such as assault, unemployment, hunger, homelessness, death ... and well, death.

People who may have been discriminated against on the night of the Brit Awards were left to find another place to drink, and shake that rear, and pose for photographs pretentiously. As an alternative to complaining like the rain in April, perhaps people who are so severely offended by Jay Z's perceived actions could reinvigorate their fight against discrimination in general by working in a soup kitchen, or shelter, or hospice, or nursing home ... or perhaps by lobbying to change laws and services for the mentally ill for the better, and so on

You know all of this crap that comes from news outlets (well they call them news outlets) are always things like TMZ or Insider or whatever it may be, its all, like Duran Duran said, Too much information. So whether the "news story" they have is about John Mayer saying the N word or degrading women, or Jay Z turning someone away at a club, or Beyonce playing a show for a family connected to terrorists, or Charlie Sheen and his wife getting drunk and high and beating each other down, or Heidi Montag getting her breasts enlarged to be the size of Spencers Head, or anything about Snooki and that degrading show that people watch constantly or some other dumb fake reality show, this is all just Too Much Info about nothing, its all meaningless bullshit about people that are nothing. To be honest i could care less if Jay Z put up a sign that said "Whitey Go Home" just as much as i cared that some jerkoff on that Jersey Shore show hit snooki, its all bullshit about nothing at the end of the day, in some sick ass way it makes us feel better than them. Well guess what, if you actually needed a dumb incident to make yourself feel better than John Mayer or Snooki or any other pop media star, book a date with a shrink.

No it shouldn't. For the most part that thread stayed with in the lines of decorum. Some topics are uncomfortable to talk about and viewpoints from the left, right or center will be expressed. shrug But you don't shut down topic just because things get heated.

This article was written by a "rag", I don't think Jay-Z gave an interview did he?

From what I remember including my own comments nobody gave a damn of who Mayer liked are not. It was the language he used. You can like or dislike anyone for whatever reason you want. The problem comes (as shown through out history) when people/groups can't leave at that and feel the need to put their hands or use power to mistreat others.

SIDE NOTE: This is sick! omg disbelief Bookmarking this.

http://www.metro.co.uk/me...de-lawsuit

Rapper Jay-Z is being sued for $5bn by a man seeking slavery reparations.

The music mogul and developer Bruce Ratner have been accused of "working in concert" with Barclays Bank and "profit[ing] from the African slave trade" by activist Clive Campbell, The Guardian has reported.

Ratner is in charge of Brooklyn's $4bn Atlantic Yards project which will see the construction of 6,000 new apartments along with a basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets.

As part-owner of the Nets and a staunch suporter of the Atlantis project, Jay-Z has found himself drawn into an argument over slavery after Barclays brought the naming rights to the basketball arena for $400m.

The bank faces long-standing accusations that it had links to the 18th century slave trade with some suggesting that it co-operated with South African apartheid, although Barclays deny the claims.

Campbell accuses them of being involved in “a conspiracy dating back hundreds of years and [continuing] to oppress black people, enslave them, [and] unlawfully deport them to all corners of the Earth.”

I don't get what peeps are up in arms about. The Mayer story contained direct quotes of a controversial nature from Mayer himself. This is just a third hand account from someone who's pissed that she was excluded from Jay's inner circle or whatever. There isn't a shred of evidence as to why she was excluded, so what's the beef? She could be deliberately writing some bs out of spite for all we know. rolleyes

Your laughter is shrill and vacuous. Make no mistake, you are very interesting as a presence on this board, and make compelling and smart and fun posts. Your critical perspective and humor are excellent. But if you have no recognition at all regarding the compelling and smart and fun music that Jay produces, then it is time for you to sit in a corner and recalibrate yourself. "Some trashy shit hopper?" "He's trash?" There is distinctive music within the fields of hip hop and rap and I am not the most aware fan of this genere becasue I do feel much of it ends up being "shit hop", but clearly there is a range of style and quality in the game and Jay is often the one offering both. Yeah, I know, it's not that deep on so many levels, but fuck the noise your post throws, it is like Napalmy sex. Love, Smut.

My original post was not meant as criticism. Do you REALLY believe these stories?? It astounds me that in today's world people actually still believe that the Masons want to establish a New World Order, worship Satan or Lucifer (whatever you want to call him), worship Baphomet (or that this abomination is in any way legitimately connected to the Masons), etc. etc. The articles you provide links to are like so many others out there written by folks who think they know about the Masonic order. I can assure you such articles are not written by Masons, and I, as a 32nd degree Mason, just laugh at nonsense like this. I will not pick apart these two articles here, as I would spend the rest of the day typing. If you have specific questions, though, Orgnote me.
