j.lo owes alot of people money. i was sure her marriage to marc Anthony wouldn't last past April of 04'. That was when I was fourteen, and betting five dollars was the big stakes. the good ole days....
Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

And what point is that "makes shitty films" had a few good hits, you just described what most pop stars are. Shit John Travolta makes shitty films almost 90% of his films have sucked but he's been making films for almost 35 years. But again i have no dog in this debate because i think everyone should leave their fucking labels, they are useless and when they disappear from music alot of what is out there now GETTING PUSHED and Jlo is the least of the worries, will be dropped into fucking oblivion and will be TOO STUPID and to broke to be able to market themselves. At this point for anyone to still be looking for a label at late ages or with that kind of $$ is just stupid, and that goes for all not just her.

That might be my favorite song of hers. I never bought the album or anything. Kind of interested in the hits set (out of pity, do they include the last two singles as new songs or put two other songs from the project on there).

I never had an album, but yeah a hits compilation might be perfect. I need both versions of "I'm Real".

I'd be surprised if they included the pop/album version. Might be smart if they did what they did with the latest Celine Dion set and release a one and two disc version. It would be really bad if they just release a "Playlist" disc. That would be really bad. I can't imagine if Sony would be that dumb and/or bitter...but like I said, no Mariah Carey DVD collection, so....

Now I'm thinking...what would a Jennifer Lopez "Greatest Hits" look like.
I have to look up Wikipedia to remember most of the songs.

"If You Had My Love"
"Waiting For Tonight"
"Feelin' So Good"
"Love Don't Cost A Thing"
"Play"
"I'm Real"
"I'm Real" (Remix)
"Ain't It Funny" (remix)
"I'm Gonna Be All Right"
"Jenny From the Block"
"All I Have" (w/ LL Cool J...for some reason missing from his hits set even though it was a number one pop track and he isn't Madonna where he can afford to dismiss those)
"Get Right"
"Hold You Down"
"Do It Well"
"Hold It Don't Drop It"
"Fresh Out the Oven"
"Loubutions"
"No Me Ames" (w/ Marc Anthony...how sweet)
"Que Histora"
After "Get Right", I was being generous" but also figured that at least one Spanish song would be included. The big hits stopped right after "Get Right" (which hit number one in the UK...not bad).

J-Lo isn't popular anymore. It is almost mind blowing that SNL booked her as a host and musical guest. Their big problem is they book hosts and musical guests too early in the season and sometimes they run into commercial disasters.

No i worked as a buyer for a retail company that dealt with labels 24/7 and had to "learn the game" that they play with the numbers, to get the numbers. My good friend used to write for Vibe (an article) and preached about real RB on deaf ears but at least she did it, her name is Sonya Askew and she is a great "soul" and basically told me all the things of how these companies run and do their "thing"

I remember she started losing her popularity (in the US) as a musical artist when Beyonce started her solo career in 2003. It was all "J-lo, J-lo, J-lo," until Beyonce stole the show with greater skills and appeal (better dancer, better singer, better songs, better performances, more lascivious clothes, bigger butt, lol). It's too bad Jennifer was dropped, but like others have said, she should probably concentrate on acting anyway.

I never understood why they signed J-lo to a recording contract. Just like I don't understand Rhianna being signed. But I guess I do. It was only for there looks. Rhianna is still young and has a few more years left to do whatever with her good looks...J-lo has gotten too old now and looks silly dancing like a teenager. Only Janet can do that and still look good at it...

She's an idiot for never headlining her OWN arena tour after her 2nd album, when she was at her peak. She could have at least earned a reputation as a great live dancer/"Singer"/entertainer, a la Janet a la Paula - but she didn't.

I (might be) buying the greatest hits though! If they include all the musts!

If You Had My Love
Waiting for Tonight
Waiting for Tonight (Hex Hector version)
Feelin So Good
Lets Get Loud
No Me Ames
Love Don't Cost a Thing
Play
I'm Real
I'm Real (Murder Inc. Remix)
Ain't it Funny (Murder Inc.)
I'm Gonna Be Alright (f/ Nas)
Jenny From the Block
All I Have (f/ LL Cool J)
Get Right
Que Hiciste
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I don't think so, because she CAN sing. Her issue is, overexposure. Jenn, is not as talented and can't place one foot in front of the other.

Chico is gonna kill me for saying this lol but I think J-Lo is *over* as a recording artist/performer.Her time has passed. How many times can she do a lame song with a popular rapper on the remix?! She rarely tours,so that's not an option for her either. She should just stick with acting. That's something that she has had some success with.

lol faint

no. i'm not going to kill you.....not just yet. evillol

so Sony is dropping her. but i bet they'll have no problems trying to cash in on her catalogue. hmmm. record companies drop people left and right. they also expect hits from people when they don't do any promotion their damn selves.

as far as the rapper thing; that can be said about several major artists that are around today. and you know that too well SoulAlive. so far only "Fresh Out The Oven" features Pitbull. none of the other tracks have rappers. that i'm aware of anyway.

is she over musically? no. is she over as being a MAJOR recording artist? perhaps. but someone will sign her. i don't care if she has another hit or not. but the fact remains that she had a successful run, and possibly still could. several #1's and millions sold. i bring that up only because "how successful someone is" comes up in this thread.

i don't think her new songs are that much different than a lot of the stuff people on here rave about. if you don't like her, fine. but all this J.LO vs. Britney vs. Madonna vs. Janet vs. Rihanna vs. Kylie vs. Beyonce or whoever crap is soooo immature. is her music really any less "great" or different than any of the other pop 'divas' out? i never understood why you can't like more than one similar artist at the same time.

fact; she is/was a SUCCESSFUL recording artist. is a successful actress, dancer, business woman. her name/brand still brings in major $$$.
no her vocals are not that of Celine Dion or Jennifer Hudson, but then again she's never claimed that. yet no one here is really making 10 page threads about Celine, or Jennifer Hudson. but they probably can't sing or scream instead of singing right? which goes to show Jennifer Lopez's name still gets attention.

oh she's singing ballads?!? so what!! at least she's attempting to do something a bit different. remember when people were laughing at Madonna for picking up a guitar? no she's no Santana or Hendrix, but she's learing and doing something new. you can't when with people. fickle fickle fickle. lol. build them up to tear them down.

if you don't like her that's fine. but to sit there and say she's got no talent is ridiculous. another reason i love her is because despite what people say, she keeps on doing what she wants. and IMO is damn good at it.

purplepolitician always posts how much he hates J.lo after i post that i love her. and it doesn't bother me. it's just friendly banter. the same with dewrde and Madonna. it's just all this she or he can't do this, is ugly, too fat, isn't talented crap that is juvenile. i don't spend hours tearing down someone who's music/movie i don't like. i just don't buy it or pay attention to it. shrug

i'm not going to kill you SoulAlive...i respect people's opinions when they come from a place of constructive critisim. not hate and jealousy. for crying out loud we're MADONNA fans. if we were going to get rid of all her "haters" this site alone would consist of 5 people. lol

the no touring thing can definitely can hurt an artist. and i'm still mad because she/they cancelled the show in my area.

i'm jusy saying if decline in sales equates to no talent then let's count the people who should also fit in that catagory
