This is such a cleverly written song.

"Kojak,won't you bring her back"

"Hey Baretta, won't you please go get her"

lol

That 2-disc set is a great place to start.I recommend that you pick up their first two albums 'Check It Out' and 'Hard Core Poetry',available as a "twofer" CD.

Other essential albums include 'Sky High' and 'Madame Butterfly'.The latter is easy to find,it was remastered several years ago.

I wanna add 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel.' I love'Whodunit'! I've been playing it alot within the last year.

"Ironside don't you let it slide.
Tell Dirty Harry.
We're supposed to get married."

The line is kinda sad, but I still crack up. lol
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

All this time, I thought this song was written by Maurice White, turned out that it was written by none other than Rene & Angela love

The horn licks should've been the dead give-away but I didn't caught it.

Weird! I just bought their Anthology the same day that Harlepolis started this thread! Tavares are great, but I would say Madame Butterfly is my fav song.
