Excellent choices! "Phantoms" is one of my favorite albums of the 80s - - severely underrated. * * *

Much Agreed, yet again a very underrated 80's group that continues to work.....time for my Howard Jones thread and his great new record, one of the best musicians of the last 25 years "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Incredible band. "Phantoms" still stands up strong today, as does much of their work. * * *

Much agreed, always loved their stuff and all the records, this album is one of my faves too, one of my fave tracks from them overall was "Deeper and Deeper" (the mix) and also "secret Seperation" goddamn there was such diversity back then! ahhhh yes. Secret Separation. Probably my favorite of their singles. I thought "Walkabout" was weaker overall than it's 2 predecessors, but that single was absolutely killer.
Love Deeper & Deeper as well. Driven Out, Saved by Zero, Reach the Beach, Opinions, Less Cities More Moving People, Previous Stone, etc, etc, etc... so many great songs. * * *

I agree, their stuff still holds up -- although I also get very nostalgic when I listen to it... ... Much Agreed, yet again a very underrated 80's group that continues to work.....time for my Howard Jones thread and his great new record, one of the best musicians of the last 25 years it's funny, when I listened to the opening bars of "I Will", I immediately thought of all the Howard Jones stuff... ... Good one.
Definitely one of the upper echelon 80s bands that are still kicking around. Always been a big fan of Jamie West-Oram's guitar sounds. A few older illustrations... ...Saved By Zero & Changing from Reach The Beach Unfortunately, the studio version of Outside hasn't been uploaded to YouTube. Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Agreed, Jamie West-Oram had a very distinct sound. The Fixx were always very tight, love their style. * * *

It was a very unique time all those bands had a unique sound, you wanted to be different, i mean the Fixx had their sound the cure had theirs, u2 had theirs,a-ha has theirs, depeche has theirs, etc.....todays artists strive to sound like each other because the public is not very "varied" "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

The diversity was amazing back then, i mean can you really compare two groups and say they were copying each other??
