Jody Watley for her solo work and style.

Micki Free for the line "I don't even go to Burger King! I'm a McDonalds man!" from 'Circumstancial Evidence'.

Without the success of Janet, the a/r attention towards Shalamar would not have created the success that they became. nod

Jody lol She did some amazing dance tracks.

Howard is a great singer, but I wasn't thrilled with most of his solo work.Alot of boring Quiet storm-type stuff.

The Howard Hewitt, Jeffrey Daniel, and Jody Watley trio. Howard is the one I would have most liked to have seen nekkid.

Shalamar 3.0 was probably the best *looking* incarnation of the band with all of the best flourishes of 80's excess. What was it that Charlie Murphy said about Miki Free? smile

But no one could compare to Howard, Jody, and Jeffrey.

Howard Hewitt could sing the alphabet and make girls swoon.

Jody "Best New Artist" Watley also had a great voice, but Howard Hewitt, at least to me, was Shalamar.

I've followed Shalamar for years, the Hewett-Watley-Daniel trio was the best of the bunch IMO

Jeffrey Daniel is a dancing wizard, he could lock, pop, boogaloo, wack, robot, etc.

Hewett was a crooner, he was replaceable but he was and still is the voice of Shalamar

But my favorite is Jody of course. She's the most memorable female of Shalamar, she's beautiful, tall, she could dance also. But what I love about her the most is that she's honest and she can hold her own.

If ever she writes a book, it's going to rival Rick James' book in terms of calling some people out in the industry. Watching the interviews she's done, she's holding back a lot I guess she's saving it for her book. I know she got stories on Hewett, Daniel, Griffey, Sylvers, Andre Cymone, SOLAR, MCA, Soul Train, Don Cornelius, etc. Probably more. I want to hear it.
