Underrated Gem Of the Day - Kool & The Gang



For some reason, this era of K&TG gets a bad rap, but I loved the Forever album. I think it was full of potential hits, and they should have milked it like they did Emergency (which had every song as a great song).

I liked these two songs as well as IBMC but the
rest of the album just really didn't do anything
for me. IMO it just didn't have the juice the
Emergency album did.

I never cared for "Stone Love" because it wasn't really danceable and was just "there". I always loved "Victory" though. I played the hell out of it when Obama won.

I love "Stone Love" music It was their last hit single with J.T. Taylor before he went solo.I have this album on vinyl.

I haven't listened to this album in years,but I remember that it is more mellow than their previous albums.Alot of slower songs,am I correct?

Yes. The songs were a little more message oriented which i get but
they just didn't have the fire behind it the songs on Emergency did.

It was the late 1980s after little miss you-know-who had changed things. evillol
