This remake is such a mistake that it's not even worth discussing who's going to sing the parts from the original. I can't imagine this being anything but awful!! And people are complaining about the "We Are The World" remake? Uumph! Just wait for this.....

Oops i missed it, i know he's royality around here, but i thought he was a dick when he talked "bad" about Prince not doing "we are the world" the song back in 1985 and then Prince got a little revenge in 1995 with the lollipop incident, Quincey called him the artist still known as an asshole later that night.

it was a bad look for Prince to be standing dead centre in a yellow "suit" not singing. Quincy was the one who looked at him like "dude take the lollipop out and sing" and Prince just shoved it in Quincy's face. ALL TELEVISED

I need to rip my VHS some day lol

nod yeah I remember watching that when it aired, it was too funny! lol
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I said to myself many times over the years if there is one R&B song that shouldnt be remade, it would be "The Secret Garden"...

SMH @ these fools. Usher, JD, Trey etc.... and especially Quincey. SMH.

Why cant things just be original? I swear to god if anyone tries to remake Mint Condition's "Breakin My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)" or Jodeci's "Cry For You", After 7's "Ready Or Not" etc. or any other classic from that era, I'm gonna stab someone. biggrin

I hated the original version but these damn folks these days don't have one original thought of their own in their heads. They just keep remaking other people's shit and making it sound worse.

You got that right. These remakes are just ridiculous. Secret Garden is an amazing song. It doesn't need a remake. neutral

This is so sad. How can you remake a song that had freaking James Ingram on it. This madness has got to stop. I need a drink.

well i dont count that amerie crap as a "remake" since its not the exact same lyrics and she just took the hook and certain lyrics from the song...but who is the other artist? graycap23 says its been done twice...

Give me Kenny Lattimore, Jaheim, Stokley and Will Downing and I'd give you a version of The Secret Garden that Germ-maine Doo-preemie couldn't dream of coming up with.

You don't like Michael McDonald? lol He and Ingram's voices are so similar. I love their duet "Ya Mo Be There," lol.

Another bad idea from Quincy Jones rolleyes

why is he always so determined to ruin his own classic songs? I remmeber his last CD 'Q's Jook Joint' was filled with several crappy remakes ("Rock With You","Stomp",etc)....I mean, what's the point?! Some songs don't NEED to be re-made.

yes, re-making your OWN songs makes no sense. It only shows that your music used to sound better lol

I'll be Good to You is another example. I don't care if you have Chaka & Ray singing it, it's not as good as the original.

This may prove interesting. Who's the fourth? The original had four singers: Al B, El, James, and Barry. I think either Jahaim, Tank, Joe, or Tyrese would be good additions to the line-up.
