Mariah needs a total MUSICAL makeover, forget the wardrobe, that has nothing to do with her output, honestly shes over 40 she isnt gonna sell what she sold, deal with it, and start going for something more memorable than "touch my body" or "Obsessed" which are songs that even Kesha wouldnt do, i mean is that the level that MC wants to be on? And this whole mid-tempo shit, later, its tired, no one cares, all the album cuts and mid tempos all seem to gel into one another and no one has a clue what song is on what album, thats how UNMEMORABLE her tracks have become at this point, and honestly this has always been her major, flaw, she is not a strong album artist at all. Sorry lambs its time for MC to get into something retro, maybe dance, or even jazzy sade like, and for those who say, "oh that would be boring" sorry, but MC has been boring for over a decade now, and had it not been for the "eye candy" she is, she would have nothing.

And for the record almost all the REMIXES are on the net, and have been for a few months, and they are better off not released.

What? No, no she doesn't!

Her music is fine, she doesn't need to change it. I fail to see y ppl continue to judge her entire output on what is primarily TWO singles!

1. Touch My Body
2. Obssessed

Those 2 songs keep comin up, and i have agreed that they werre generic and immature for an artist of her caliber. But those r just TWO songs! The rest of the albums r complately different from those 2. Touch My Body is probably the worst song on E=MC2, and Obsessed is at the bottom of my favorites from Memoirs. How do all the songs run together? I felt the same way upon 1st listen with Memoirs, but sometimes albums need to GROW on u. This is the problem with ppl like Sade, even. Everythin sounds the same on first listen. Its not a Mariah exclusive problem, I dont see y she's in such DIRE need of a musical makeover, just because the songs sound the same on the first couple of listens. Anyone who was patient enough to listen tot he album more than 3 times was satisfied with it. Its a grower- many albums r that way. I don't see how that makes it a bad album.

Her style is what she needs to change. The music is perfrectly fine. And as I said before- BETTER than what Madonna and Janet have been puttin out of recent.

Sometimes when I have my pod on shuffle and a song from MOAIA comes on I hear it differently and honestly I think it's near EOM level.

that is so true for me too! especially with More Than Just Friends. i mean, i already love it, but for some reason it's even more exciting when it pops out of nowhere lol

or I Wish You Well (you know I live for that song). lol

falloff indeed i do!

Style is not the problem though...the reason nobody is BUYING is because she is not catering to her core audience.

Hooking up with the Dream to produce her entire album was a mistake from the beginning. I believe her musical style is more important. She was dressing the same way for TEOM and it sold because of JD; but more so the ALBUM itself was melodic and featured more than just drum programmed hip hop beats and conventional styles that was all over MOAIA.

Then the Dream was mad when people dissed him for destroying the album..which was not bad wirting style; however it was indeed her FAULT for not working with someone that can actually make the songs sound GOOD. I believe if she had stuck with James Poyser on MOST tracks things would have been much different.

But TEOM wasnt a great record, it was GOOD at best, it was just a "hit" compared to others, and everything was aligned for her to sell to the masses at the time. But a song like "Shake it Off" is on the level of "Touch My Body", and there are quite a few others on the album that are sub par songs.

Well Janet and Madonna and Mariah are nothing alike in their music whatsoever, not sure why everyone lumps them together but they have nothing in common.

Second i never said she was making Bad Albums, im saying they all seem to blend together and there is no musical change coming, sure theres an occasional saving grace for her, but the singles have all had the same theme, the ballads are almost always the same style, mid tempo, bland, lyrically pointless. And actually i have listened to the album many more times than 3, and actually i grow out of them more with each listen, TEOM, i liked more day 1 and as time went on, it was an average album at best, Memoirs, kicked off strong with the first song and then it hit a wall, E=MC2 was probably the best of these 3 and the one that showed a little variety, not much, but a little more than usual, but again her choices for singles, were horrendous on this album.

IS U KRAYAY!?!? E=MC2 shon that she was trying to do it all over again without more experimentation; and lame ass "I'm That Chick and "OOC" or "Love U Long Time" don't count..the rest of it was copy cliches to be te next We Belong Together, Migrate was fighting to be the next It's Like That and while she carelesly threw together "I Wish U Well" at the end of that album (which it did not flow with any of the other songs) it waws definitly the best tune on that album and I wish she had took the time and effort to put more thought on alot of those songs evn the upbeat one were a-b-c i love you Mariah tunes that were just bland in comparison to the songs she displayed on Emancipation of Mimi, Rainbow, Gliter.

Well as far as the DREAM goes, he's not a producer, he makes beats and writes hooks, Production is something out of his element. Also E=MC2 being a copy of TEOM and Memoirs shows that the albums are all taking on the same meaning at this point, the ballads are mostly all a-b-c midtempo, regardless of what album they are on. Fact is that Glitter is the most range she has shown in a record and experimentation for the most part. Also when people are commenting on MC and saying this track is good this isnt that is ok and that is bad, it shows that her albums have filler, and that she isnt a good album artist, this isnt a bad thing, its not easy to make strong albums constantly, mc has always been a "singles" artist from day one, and the problem now is that the singles are just not what they were to say the least.
