TBH, the second song is cringe-worthy. Melisma overload. Yikes! That's why I want her to do a cover "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Yes, I too would love to hear Janet cover "Missing You," but I want her to sing it just like Ms. Ross, meaning, without layers and layers of simultaneous filler background voices during the verses. Just one strong lead vocal, with some power like in "Again" and "Twenty Fourplay." "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
"Water can nourish me, but water can also carry me. Water has magic laws." - JCVD

I've never dug into Diana's catalog so I don't know but I plan on listening to more of her music. My favorite of hers aside from Missing You is Eaten Alive Barry Gibb and Michael killed that shit "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

She tries too hard to prove herself on ballads. She needs somebody to take those wild vocal tangents she goes on. Too, too much. I get it...you're down, Teena. I loved MikeMatronik's response the first time he heard her Portuguese Love, criticizing her pronunciation of the word. SOS - I'm familiar with the tune and know it goes more uptempo in the latter half, but still the first part puts me off. I take it you never heard of a song entitled Cassanova Brown. If you really want to know the kind of power vocalist Teena really is, listen to THAT track. Don't try to school me, son. I know and like a good portion of her music.

Because I don't always like Screama Marie's (thanks for that name, tA ) ballads, I have no taste? Then so be it!

That's one of my favorite Diana songs, but I'm still going with Teena. I especially love the second half of the song. I can totally understand the criticism of her vocals, though. She's an acquired taste, I guess.
