I was listening to Jody Watley's Greatest Hits and "Still a Thrill" could be by Prince. It's got that "Camille voice" thing going and the rhythm is pretty Prince-y.

Yeah. Prince, Andre, and Bobby Z were all cool again when Jody recorded it. She's mentioned that they used to "hang out" back then. Someone else on Prince.org has guessed Prince's invovlement with the recording of "Computer Love" by Roger and Zapp in 1982. After listening I noticed that "Linn Drum Machine" beat, I must agree. Roger, Zapp, and Charlie Wilson were all WB artists back then. Roger has called-out Prince on one of songs in the early 1980's... Others: El Debarge - "My Heart Belongs To You" Cree Summer - [Bass] on "Curious White Boy" (This is more likely Lenny on Bass using some tricks he picked-up while jamming with P) Morris Day - "Fishnet" (because everyone was coming together at this time. "Corporate World" and "9 Lives" were recorded near this time. Plus, the rest of his CD, Daydreaming did'nt have any other noteable tracks.) Mtume - "Juicy Fruit" (Linn Drum Beat is signiture Prince) Wasn't Mtume on WB? This song is comparable to most of Prince's best Funk Ballads. Note the lyrics, bass, synths, and keys when you listen to this one again.

I like the Cameo comparison. "I Just Want to Be" could be by Prince. I'm listening to it now. (The notes indicate that it was written by Gregory Johnson and Larry Blackmon in 1979. The group was founded in 1976.) I hear a slight similarity between it and "Sexy Dancer." I think DJ Steve "Silk" Hurley could probably produce a pretty impressive mix of the two together.(silkmix.com is still under construction. I wished they'd hurry it up!) Unfortunately, I haven't heard "Data Bank." DigitalLisa said: Untitled - D'angelo
I'm glad someone else agrees with me on this one! Good call on Maxwell, too!

You're all forgetting the #1 "isn't-that-Prince-?" song of all time...
..."Oh Sheila" by Ready For The World. To this day people think it's Prince...just go on Morpheus or Bearshare and you'll see how many people are sharing that song under "Prince & Sheila E."... By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

The most ridiculous thing, a lady was telling me that "Prince stole his whole sound by a person who sang a song about Sheila E or something like that". I didn't even bother to say anything "Climb in my fur."

2 songs that should be Prince MISS YOU,EMOTIONAL RESCUE. I also would be digging on Prince writing SATISFACTION and BITCH and ANGIE. Basically,Prince could have written a load of Glimmer Twins Songs.

DigitalLisa said: Slave 4 u - Britney Spears This was actually a homage 2 Price himself thus the use of "4 U" and a break which sounded not 2 dissimilar 2 "Nasty Girl" (which is ultimately dre's ). but :I: always thought that Prince did a phantom vocal on Martika's "Love Thy Will B done" and :I: also know that he's a fan of Andreas Wolleinweider who wrote a track in the early 90's (possibly 80's, some1 confirm me on this!) called "Pearls and Tears"... mayB the title "Diamonds & Pearls" could B a homage 2 this... mayB it's a referrence 2 Sheila E's lyric in "The Glamourous Life".. or it could B TOTALLY Abstract. but the bottom line... 1st time :I: heard Wollenwieder's "Pearls & Tears" it had a very so-called 'Prince'ly vibe. 'dre Tried many flavours - but sooner or later, always go back to the Purple Kool-aid!

Maxwell "Get 2 Know Ya".
George Michael has a handful, especially early in his solo career. "One" doing the Prince impersonation on "Groove Eternal" is a male btw.

good you mention Maxwell because on his "Now" disc it was Reported that Tommy Mottola&Sony Crew told Him too Re-do some parts on that Album because they felt it sounded too much like Prince.interesting.George Michael who still likes Prince but not nearly as much as He use too.yeah you can hear it in certain songs but back in the day Prince had that Vibe going on.George Michael has a handful, especially early in his solo career.
