The Fame or The Fame Monster

I couldn't find a thread on this, so I thought I'd make one.

To all my fellow GaGa fans/listeners out there, do you prefer The Fame or The Fame Monster?

For me, even though I love her first album a lot (Poker face, Just Dance, Papparazzi, Summerboy, Boys Boys Boys etc), I honestly find The Fame Monster to be a far more superior overall album, I can listen to it form start to end, it has a much more darker feeling and its more cohesive than The Fame. My favorite track is Speechless, but Aljeandro comes close.

Poker Face, Just Dance, Paparazzi, Lovegame, Speechless and if I'm being really generous, Eh Eh, are the only tracks half decent or better, while every other track without exception is absolutely awful (even by normal pop album filler standards), so tell me which album the majority of those tracks I've listed are from and that's my answer. lol

Again, even by pop standards where it's the norm, I can't remember an artist having such disparity between her handful of good tracks and filler pap. It's like after a point she cynically really just didn't give a shit.

No, it's terrible. I let her off that jibberish, stuttering singing on Poker Face but not the repeat trick (and done worse) on Bad Romance. lol Awful!

I prefer the Fame, though I think there's too much filler. outside of Bad Romance, there aren't too many thrilling moments or songs for me on Monster....

I love The Fame, but if I had to, I'd pick Monster over The Fame. The first album was all about Fame and Money, while Monster touched base on a lot more subjects (each song describing a phobia/fear)

Favorite tracks off The Fame would pretty much be all the singles, plus Starstruck and favorite track off Monster would be Dance In The Dark

i must have listened to "dance in the dark" over a hundred times,
that doesn't happen too often anymore with anything other than my
radiohead, arcade fire, fever ray and general weird shit.

for a popsong to strike me and hit me that hard is very rare this
day n age.

All her best music is behind her now. razz I bet she never comes up with anything from this point on that's nearly as catchy as her first few singles.

Alphabeat? hmmm Never heard of him/her/it/them/mawm

I'd say The Fame Monster, even though I, too, skip 'So Happy I Could Die' and 'Telephone' most of the time. I really love both albums though.

The Fame Monster.

The Fame sucks IMO, I actually can't believe the songs on TFM were left off the album, but I'm glad they were! They stand so well on their own it's no wonder she made it her 2nd album.
