a-ha "ending on a high note tour" presale sells out in 4 minutes, 5th american show added, 3rd in NYC on sale FRIDAY!!

After a long speculation, and all other territories having booked dates, with the exception of Canada so far, the USA seemed like it might not get a final a-Ha show(s). But the band released word today on their website the american dates will be announced next week. a-ha last played the USA in 2005 on Sept12th, at Irving Plaza in NYC a show that sold out in 50 minutes. This time the band has said it will be a longer stay than one show, however, the areas they will be playing are still under consideration, NYC will most likely get the shows, possible venues under consideration, Town Hall, The Beacon Theater, Nokia and Radio City, but it all depends on the timing, a-Ha is mostly booked from later March through December for their final tour, doing shows in almost every corner of the world.

I hope I can get up there to see them.

The Beacon Theater would be nice. I saw Crowded House there in '07 and thought it was a great venue.

Now's a perfect opportunity to check out more of their great music biggrin I'd suggest starting out with their most recent album, "Foot of the Mountain." It's killer from start to finish. cool

Considering that the org now posts more on threads about Chris Brown than artists with a future or a career, do you think i fucking care? the FACT (and the key word is FACT go look it up) is that a-ha can walk into any market and sell a concert and play shows, they are going to places that really only MJ could go and SELL, if Prince went there they would be like "who". And as far as being relevant and ESSENTIAL, ask fucking Coldplay and RadioHead who owe their starts to a-ha, two bands (especially) Radiohead everyone rides like a $2 hooker. And ask Bono of u2 who's ego is bigger than the debt of america, who he thinks is a band that rivalled them the last decade. Do yourself a favor if you dont know about an artist, search the facts, thats what the net is for, instead of stealing artists music, learn who the fuck they are

I'm not an A-ha fan but they have a far bigger fanbase than i ever imagined. They booked into play Nottingham Arena several years ago and i was like WTF are they trying to do by playing there. Hip bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Killers etc couldn't sell it out but A-ha did. Incredible really.

No one cares about Ok, thats why they play in areas that no artist that tops "americas" charts could even sell a ticket, get real, they will play here and sell out just like they did five years ago when they played with no album in the states and sold the shit out in 45 minutes, a venue, by the way that Prince sold out but in 2 days. And guess what, they have a 75 date tour, and they wont be saying "oh thats to grueling" and passing out and dropping dead from the routine.

The dates will be in NYC and LA, tickets will be made available to their a-ha.com members (which was free, sorry PRINCE not a $70 for nothing job) and will go on sale Feb 2nd to members first, the dates will be for May 2010

"A little Bit" ahead of schedule a-ha has announced their shows for the USA, targeting NYC (where they played in 2005) and LA their first date their since 1986. The shows will be May 6th and 7th at the Nokia Theater in NYC and then May15th at the Nokia Theater in LA, more NYC dates could be added. Presale will be at a-ha on Feb2nd for the 3 shows with special VIP seating tickets available for a very limited time and very few are going to be made available due to the venues restrictions. Tickets for the presale are for existing a-ha.com members A FREE membership.

Presale tickets for a-ha's 3 american dates 2 in NYC 1 in LA sold out in 4minutes on Tuesday morning. General Public tickets went on sale Friday for the May6th and 7th new york shows and May15th's show in LA all at Nokia's theaters. Due to demand on the LA end (show sell out) another date is added for the 16th, tickets almost gone for that. No news on an add to NYC, since those shows are gone too. Canadian fans still await notice of any dates, ironically a-ha has still had chart success in Canada, much more than america, but research has shown that America has more base fans for them at this point, so Canada might not get any shows due to tight scheduling and travel issues. First shows in South America begin in under a month.

Yeah i understand, there have been alot of posts on their website about them coming here and there, i just think its really impossible for them to do more than nyc and la. I think they researched travel and logistics alot as far as them getting around, im hearing they have alot of gear for these shows to move around and they have to look at supply and demand in most places to do shows where they have not been in 20+ years

a-ha has added a 3rd NYC date for May 8th tickets on sale to the public Friday at Noon. The presell is over and all sold out, once again in minutes. Two more dates added to the european tour, now bringing the tour total to 63 shows in 11 countries, so far. a-ha have spoken on the tour and said that setlists will vary from country to country and mutliple venue shows will get changes each night.
