LIL WAYNE OFF TO THE DENTIST BEFORE OFF TO THE BIG HOUSE

Dayum if that aint some special treatment. Anybody else would have had to suffer the pain and ultimate tooth decay.

Personally....I think he's gettin' his jaw wired shut.

Lil Wayne has postponed his jail sentence at the 11th hour – and by the skin of his teeth. The hip-hop star narrowly avoided the beginning of his one-year sentence, scheduled to start yesterday, after sentencing was postponed due to dental surgery.

Lil Wayne pleaded guilty on weapons charges more than three months ago, with sentencing scheduled for this week. As anticipated, he arrived at a Manhattan courthouse yesterday afternoon, dressed modestly and accompanied by his lawyer. But while observers expected these to be Dwayne Michael Carter Jr's last moments of liberty for at least six months, Weezy will instead spend this weekend in Florida.

According to his lawyer Stacey Richman, Lil Wayne requires surgery for a cracked tooth. After hearing the details, the court granted the rapper permission to fly to Miami for an operation on Friday. As he will allegedly require ten days to recover, Richman asked that sentencing be postponed until 25 February. Judge Charles H Solomon scheduled the proceedings for 2 March, to ensure that Lil Wayne is well.
With a severe snowstorm on its way, judge Solomon instructed Lil Wayne to leave as soon as possible. "I don't want this to get pushed back anymore," he said. "This is the last adjournment."

Sore mouth or no, Lil Wayne can accomplish a lot with three weeks' clemency. On Saturday he allegedly shot nine - yes, nine - music videos, and the rapper was allegedly recording new music as recently as the wee hours of Tuesday morning. From inside the studio, he recorded a video to bid his fans farewell. "Tonight's my last night," Lil Wayne said. "I came to the studio to get some work done. To all you artists out there, that should be a message or example." At the end of the clip, sitting in his car, he thanked his supporters "from the bottom of me".
"Do not forget about me 'cos I will forever think about you," he said. "I cannot wait for you to see me again." They may see him sooner than they expected.

His Rebirth album is out, there's no reason to push anything back.

I am not surprised he made the most out of his extra time.

Exactly, hes got the current cover of Rolling Stone, cause after all when you commit a crime, you are relevant and deserve magazine covers.

Ok but still, commit crimes do your time, you shouldnt be getting covers and tv shows from it. The music business needs to take a hint from sports like the NFL and NBA and when someone commits a crime and is convicted, give them the boot from their label

That's kinda shitty you can commit a crime, be a rapper, and get on a cover of a magazine. However if you're an unthreatening singer who happens to be black and NOT on American Idol or Disney movies, you have a better chance getting on TV Guide. confused

After every note of the album leaked on the internet in 2009, is it any wonder that his first week sales are less than 1M?

Yeah music is gone at this point, his new album was all over the place about six months before it hit stores, plus he has had his grace period, plus, people just get tired of you when you are on EVERYTHING, i mean Tpain's last album with all his promo did nothing, FloRida can sell a trillion downloads but cant move 100,000 albums? does anyone see the relevance in all this, that the people that still sell albums, are not the "ringtone" artists

The ringtone/mixtape "artists" are not gonna sell a lot of copies anyway so they've die trying. That era where you can sell a mixtape and then sell 500,000 physical copies in hip-hop music is over. 50 Cent can't get away with what he got away with in 2003 and Lil' Wayne sure can't get away with what he got away with in 2007/2008 not to mention the album was already leaked last year.

the day and age of selling a million are over, unless you are some "trend" buy like that lady that sings opera, or Andrea Boccelli or Michael Buble or a white country female, you arent gonna see a million. Be happy if you sell a 100-200,000 overall when all is said and done. If you cant accept those kind of sales, i really suggest another career move, and if you are in it to make $$ i suggest selling "vitamin water" or "perfume" and "Clothing"

A good portion of first-week million-selling Carter III leaked too, but fans actually enjoyed the album enough to buy it <-----

True. There's actually folks who sold that much but continue on their careers, which is always positive in an industry that keeps on faltering. lol

It's a diffrent genre, but still respectable in thes times, considering that it was leaked back in December

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne's delayed sentencing yesterday due to a tooth problem has now been examined by a certified dentist.

"He probably has a bad tooth, a tooth that's abscessed," Dr. Rudd explained in an interview. "With having all of [gold and diamond material] in his mouth, it's going to be really difficult to get clean because of all of the different crevices. I don't know if they're bridges or if they are all individual. But if it's going to be two weeks [from surgery to recovery], then I don't think he's going to get them all off, because of the potential damage. Without knowing what's exactly there, it's probably decayed and the decay got into the nerve, which causes the nerve to die." (MTV)
