The Magnificent Return Of... Gil Scott-Heron's 2010 album "I'm New Here"

One of the most beautiful voices in.. well, whatever spectrum you want to place this man in; to me, he is impossible to place in one particular corner.

His message. His influence on so many different musical styles and artists. But what matters to me most; the combination of that voice and those words. Minister of Information to some, to me he is one of the best poets in the world, his words flow like no other MC I know, except maybe Q-Tip.

Most of the cats here know him, I'm sure. The peeps in the Prince: Music And More-forum know him cuz Prince borrowed Scott-Heron's most famous song title for one of his songs.

And he made a new record. First in ages. He's been gone too long. I am so, so glad he's back.

This is a magnificent record! Who knew he could comeback like this after he succumbed to the things he spoke on throughout his career, specifically drug abuse. I'm glad this brotha is back! I've been playing this since yesterday morning.
