Where the first album was still somewhat uneven, These new Puritans second album "Hidden" is levelling out to such a degree that I predict it will end up on a lot of year-end-lists.

I love young bands from the UK because they unashamedly grab all sorts of influences and make it their own, as in the 60's The Beatles did with rock and roll and Indian music.
These New Puritans are maybe not re-writing pop/rock history with this album, but "Hidden" has a scope that surpasses last decades 'musical darlings' like The Strokes and The White Stripes and the likes, who most often crashed on the scene with a smash album, then slithered off again as they could not maintain the quality that took them to the top.

TNP's are not perfect, which is another reason I like them; but again, the scope of things, the production, their vocal delivery takes it beyond other bands, except maybe Fenech-Soler, who also have the ballsy sound that makes my ears ring with pleasure.
