Yeah i love this girl myself. It's a shame that with a voice she has she is still slept on by the industry because I thought that the new album Epiphany was gonna really break her in since it did go to #1 on the Billboard 200 charts back last May or June. And I was highly pissed when it didn't get Grammy recognition this year, not that it is that important. Her debut album I Am was a good one too, but Epiphany was just mesmerizing.

Isn't it frustrating when you don't see people getting their just due.
I saw her at the Maxwell concert and lil chunky thighs tore that shit up.
She is too big and so not the stereotype.....I'm quite sure if she sung more about begging a brotha back or popped a tit out here and there...she'd be the next best thing since sliced bread!
I'm mad now. mad

yeah the 1st time i listened to her cd i let it play straight through and i said ok something is wrong, this cd is great why dont i know more about her. then when i saw her live i said so this is why i dont like any of the current singers, all the good ones are underground.

i liked her early on when she did those songs with rappers like nas and shit and still like her voice and think she's talented, but all her singles sound like the same tired "guy who ain't shit did me wrong" shit everyone else is on bored2. she comes off like mary j jr. or something to me and one mary is enough thumbs up!
For all time I am with you, you are with me.

There's a real good article,I think in XXL,where she addresses that she didn't fit the stereotype when she got into the industry..She said that's why she always take pics showing her thick thighs to let women know that you don't have to be skinny to get out there...the article is with her and Wale..I'm on my phone so I can't put up the link right now

She's not slept on.
Artists like Lina, Alice Smith, Maysa, Sy Smith, Choklate, Adriana Evans and Maishya are slept on.
Christette got a big push from Def Jam when she dropped.
The problem is the system, not her. She is writing material that goes against the grain of the music the "system" is pushing, so she's only expected to go so far. Truth be told, she's kinda lucky that she's still getting the attention that she is. I like her work. I hope she continues to get support.
