DRAMA: Usher’s Mom Quits As His Manager AGAIN!

There’s drama and chaos in the Usher camp yet again. Mr. Raymond’s mother Jonetta Patton allegedly quit as his manager in the past recent months for the second time. So his label Jive has been pushing his new Raymond vs. Raymond album back (this latest time to March 30th) because he can’t keep a stable team in place. According to the NY Daily News, it’s all because of Ursh’s new cougar girlfriend Grace Miguel.

Apparently the crooner and his mother — and former manager– Jonetta Patton are officially on the outs and severed their professional ties in late November 2009.

“She walked away from the project because Usher had his girlfriend [and former Def Jam executive] Grace Miguel was all in the mix,” says the source.

“She felt as though if she didn’t end things when she did, it would permanently affect their personal relationship,” continues the source.

Usher had apparently declared that he would manage himself, with the help of Miguel, but the label felt that “there was chaos in the camp.”

Can we say De’Ja Vu? Dude has a real need it seems for an older chick to be all up in his bed and biz. Didn’t we already discuss this on “Papers” (“I done damn near lost my mama/I been through so much drama….) Don’t do it Ursh. Reconsider!

Raymond vs. Raymond will be pushed back again ... and again ... and again ... and again ...

Also, I think Raymond vs. Raymond is short for Usher vs. Mommy.

Family and business don't mix. Usher is grown-his mother shouldn't be that involved in his life that much anyhow. Doesn't she have a life? Can't Usher stand on his own 2 feet?

Good to know she isn't a weird jealous mom.

But it shouldn't matter in a business relationship who she likes.

You took the words right out of my mouth. On one hand, from Usher's standpoint he may want to stick with who helped bring you to the dance, in this case, its Moms. But if she can't separate his business affairs from his personal life, she needs to go and just be Mom and Grandma for his kids. My two cents...

CORRECTION: She didn't quit/resign for being her son's manager the first time. Usher laid her off. rolleyes
