Cyndi Lauper to give concert during Pride Week in Toronto at Queen's Park at 14:38 on March 4, 2010, EDT.

(THE ASSOCIATED PRESS/Amanda Schwab, StarPix) TORONTO - Grammy award-winning singer Cyndi Lauper will perform a free concert during Toronto's 30th annual Pride Week. The July 3 concert will be staged at Queen's Park, the site of the Ontario legislature. Lauper, who broke on the scene with the 1983 single "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," is working on her newest studio album which is scheduled for release in June. She is also featured on the new "Celebrity Apprentice" edition on NBC starting March 14. Later this year, she will launch her own reality show. Organizers say this year's Pride event will include eight stages over more than 22 city blocks and an attendance of more than one million. "It's an honour to always have the genuine affection of the gay community," Lauper says in a statement. "They have never turned their back on me and I will never turn my back on them. We've had a long and enduring love affair." ©The Canadian Press, 2010
