Super Bowl XLIV - The Music

Super Bowl Pre-Game Tailgate Party:

Chris Daughtry - Not a fan so I didn't really pay attention.

Steve Winwood - Higher Love
Looks like the same lineup from his About Time album.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Queen Latifah - America the Beautiful

Carrie Underwood - National Anthem

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Halftime Show:

The Who (or the Pete & Roger Show)

Queen Latifah messed up big time with "America the Beautiful" and you can tell from the crowd's reaction that her slip ups didn't go unnoticed. Don't get me wrong, I know that, that is a difficult job...seems like she got really nervous and kept trying to make up for it, but it just made it worse. However, Carrie Underwood was fantastic.

She may have SANG but she needs serious fashion help, i think that outfit was left to her by Evil Knievel, good vocals, butunless you are going to jump through fire or over a shark bad fucking outfit.

And all white on "white blondes" looks HIDEOUS! it always did, ask Barry Manilow he wore that outfit in 1976 and he burnt it when the decade ended

Someone tell Nicole Kidman that. She's the queen of "washed out outfits". disbelief

Yes! I mentioned that performance earlier.
Thing is, I don't like "The Who".

I think these superbowl halftime shows aren't as exciting as they used to be. That used to be the highlight of the game, but now it's like more like bored

Well Pete is playing the hell out of his guitar but still, unless he douses alchohol on it and sets it on fire and then they blow up the drum set, this performance can't be saved. confused

I don't like them.
The only song I've ever liked by them is "My Generation".
Therefore, the commercial before this was more entertaining to me.

The Who.... the performance on danish television: completely out of synch, sound and picture were not fitting together....

and I was in doubt, was it all just playback to a tape recording???

a big disappointment. neutral

Not as good as I thought it would be, Pete made a few mistakes. It still rocked though. Roger still sounds great.

The Who get a F-, they were horrible damn it. Roger Daltrey can't sing anymore.
He sounds worse that Rod Stewart and Robert Plant combined.
Pete Towshend seemd like he was imitating his old self. The drummer was whack as fugg, and Pino Palladino is so wasting his talents playing bass guitar with these has beens.
The NFL made a huge mistake once again in their choice for half-time.
Paul McCartney did not work, The Rolling Stones were awful and now this may be the worst of all.
Was Earth, Wind and Fire or George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic not available?

Next year lets try not to let dead people perform at the super bowl halftime show.

can we at least get back to the cheesy fit as many stars as possible on stage halftime shows? at least they had energy and excitement. Plus they were fun to watch fall apart. Tonight was just stale.
