Prince was straight up HENDRIX during the Purple Rain Era... He was little Richard--I mean the pants Little Richard has got on in this video is like Cherry Moon & Sign-O-The-Times! Literally! And the hair do...I'm prepared to write a THESES!

And a rather interesting cover at that, based on the time frame. Most other bands were using this arrangement... ...The Byrds & The Leaves On a quick side note, Frank Zappa did a parody of the song based on the above style... ...Flower Punk (from We're Only In It For The Money) From what i've read, Hendrix patterned his take after a version by... ...Tim Rose. Never knew that "Hey Joe" was not written by Hendrix. I always thought it was one of his songs. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

You beat me to it! I think Hendrix just IMMORTILIZED the song. But I always though he was the one who wrote it.

You beat me to it! I think Hendrix just IMMORTILIZED the song. But I always though he was the one who wrote it. There's some controversy surrounding the song's origins. You will generally see Billy Roberts listed as the writer. Some stories claim that he signed the rights over to Dino Valenti.
